yeah, re: people being upset over transfem roxy not being canon, i can't blame them for that. it's a pretty understandable thing, especially since roxy was pretty fundamental to a lot of people's sense of gender growing up. there's a good amount of nuance to it, so i understand why they might be slower to accept, and i respect that. i feel as if from experience they're also not the sort to really like. Get Mad At You if you're down with the actual transmasc roxy text, though.
part of it really is just the unfortunate growing pains of going from a fandom (in an era that) puts a lot of thought and credence into "diversity headcanons," and then getting to a point where the writer actually decides what is and isn't real. all those years of everyone making their own gender/sexuality headcanons for each of the kids, getting largely dismantled as the comic goes on is interesting, but it also makes people Really Upset. (which is also interesting, in a kinda morbid way)
