Generally the reason a someone settles out of court isn't because they 'got their ass beat' it's that they either concede the time and effort isn't worth it or are aware the judgement isn't going to be in their favor, and usually comes after quite a bit of litigation, no one gets a legal threat and goes 'oh I'm fucked here's a bunch of money' lmfao. The reason someone settles out of court is so that the amount paid can't be publicized and if another case like that happens in the future the defense can't go 'well they gave the last guy this much money, so we need that much at least.' genuinely stop talking out of your ass you are just embarrassing yourself and Gio.
