i'm torn. i'm someone who works on a few homestuck voice acting projects (specifically voft and podfeels), so character voice is a topic i tend to think about a lot.

i really like toby as june, and i don't really *mind* the rose VA they have, its not great but not terrible, although the delivery feels way too flat to me. but dave is where i sort of have issues? he feels so un-dave-like in a way that i personally find jarring. nearly every dave voice i've heard fit the same sort of deeper slightly monotone voice that make me go "that sounds like a dave", but this is just so different. when I first heard the dave's voice i thought it was june.

I cannot comment on jade orkarkats voice because we haven't heard them yet, but jade is being voiced by tails' VA, which is the only voice i've heard her as. i can't imagine jade with the tails voice, but i also assume this is an actor with range and isn't just gonna pull the same voice again. i honestly don't know what to expect.

also, i watched the spindlehorse panel the announcement was made in because i wanted more context on the show because i got a little bit obsessed, and apparently all these voices were chosen by hussie herself (i have clipped it for context:https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx2WFdTJujtjsfdW42O2ukewHOKUwH3VkI), and dave was allegedly one of the ones they put the most care into choosing as "these characters are so beloved and we want to make sure we get them right", which makes it weird how un-dave-like it sounds.
