If I may speak for everyone in the room I don't think anybody really gives a fuck about "redeeming" Homestuck's legacy or whatever. By the Hussie Law Of Araciality there can be no racial representation in Homestuck. There's just coding, and the occasional horrific racist stereotype.

This discussion exists for the fandom. Works with Legitimacy in the eyes of the fandom (mainly works either written by or endorsed by Andrew Hussie) carry weight in how people understand and analyze the text, how they move forward in fanwork and fandom spaces, how audiences respond when the black artists and writers on a team decide to go balls in on adding melanin to inklings. Like mansta said literally last post, this shit really does have an impact!
