I'm pretty sure I've mentioned somewhere that I've long held the belief that Cronus becomes FAR more interesting if you go the route of "started this for attention, but then it became serious/real and is trying to be cool about it (and isnt)"

and yeah jade as she is in the early 2000s is someone who saw a bunch of ppl complaining about furry lifestylers and how terrible and gross furries are in general and tries to distance herself despite the quiet yearning. Probably her main introduction to alterhumanity specifically would have been those like old weirdly aggressively gatekeepy therian forums that were like 90% wolfkin who thought any otherkin with a mythical/not Real animal was faking for attention.
