oh yeah, davepeta is AMAZING- i was so excited to see a nonbinary character in homestuck, let alone one who expressed euphoria about unusual features! it might just be media ive seen, but that felt like the first time ive seen a character be thrilled about specifically having claws physically as part of their body. awesome!! and i like how it feels like davepeta like, in some way seems like it relieves both nepeta and dave's alterhuman feelings? i generally consider nepeta to be somewhere in between furry and therian- either way, i think it is definitely very euphoric for her to be something that is Not Fully Troll. and sameways for dave i dont think dave would ever think of himself as alterhuman. i think davesprite would have a lot of conflicting feelings about it (mostly from the circumstances) and fusing with nepeta is what lets davepetasprite realize they actually really like themself. they like not feeling fully human or fully troll, being a bit cat and sure why the hell not, kind of bird? i think nepeta's prescence helps dave to open up to those feelings and that combination is what lets davepeta unabashedly enjoy what they are.
