i'll probably reply again another time with a full extensive list of some of my favorite albums from across different genres, but i did recently make an hour long presentation on Electra Heart by MARINA, formerly known as Marina and The Diamonds, so definitely important to mention first. The project she created that album for, The Archetypes, is so deeply fascinating to me. Absolutely adore it.

I've been a big fan of EDM since the 2014 Skrillex Recess days, nobody's stopping me from hearing the bwow bum bweeeee noises! I think it's easier to name artists in EDM, but a few albums/EPs that are notable for me are:

I’ve been listening to albums from Mr. Bungle for a few years like California and their Self Titled, Disco Volante is pretty good as well, i think people should check them out especially if you like Faith No More

i like bunky becky birthday boy by sleigh bells quite a bit :3 its a pretty recent release as well

current faves are worry by jeff rosenstock and songs in the key of life by stevie wonder. he's misstra know-it-all (stevie wonder) isn't on that album but it's doc scratch's theme song in my mind.

leonids no kanata ni by yoichi takizawa is a favorite of mine :)

What can I say about this album to sell people on it? It's like, a quintessential summer album for me, about aging, love, binding yourself to another person, loss, and grief. It's an album that truly makes my heart ache for what I've had and what I now lack. It's a phenomenal no skip album in my opinion. The only thing that I have issue with is that they're so much better live than in recordings, and I will be chasing the high of hearing 'runner' live for the rest of my life.
