Favorite thing about the pilot?

i really like the meta stuff, too! obviously the animation is really cool and cute, also. and this might be an unpopular opinion but i actually love rose's voice! the super proper, sophisticated lady voice people give her never sounded quite right to me. this voice sounds a lot more "rose" in my head.

my FAVORITE thing about it is probably the animation itself, and the way they show the online conversations. it's really cool!

The audiovisual presentation really is top-notch. I have very mixed feelings on the narrative, but the cartoon looks great and sounds great.

So, all the stuff I thought they were going to have to turn down a bit? The meta stuff? GAme mechanics? Sylladexes? Swearing? They didn't. They turned it up to 13, and I loved it!

Hmmm I dont really have a favorite thing about the pilot, I liked it all equally!

I love how they tackled WV. For returning viewers (or once they get up to John's entry) it works really well as a way of adapting carapacians without sacrificing the gimmick. (Not too big on having John be able to notice the narration this early but I assume it'll be ironed out in the transition from 11-minute vertical slice to full anime.)

I loved that when the narrator was speaking john tried to mute them. So fucking funny. I hope we see more meta stuff like that in the future when the series releases (It will!!!!).

I also adored that they showed all of the beta trolls. I thought that they were only going to show karkat. I actually squeed!

I also loved that if you stayed after the merch roll that you saw karkat say what he said at the end. I think a lot of people missed that because I have seen 0 mention about it across all types of social media! It felt so true to his character that it warmed my heart and made me laugh so hard. HUGE karkitty fan over here btw.

Also this is an extra to my post, but I feel like they might try making nepeta a focal point. They sorta changed her design to appeal to new tastes if you know what I mean. I'm a big nep fan but I just hope the content farms do not target her because of this. She deserves more attention but not because of that! If it creates more fics about one of the best characters in the franchise I will not complain hehe.

I definitely agree on the pesterlogs, the phone call split screens were super cute and I think they'll present a lot of meta oppurtunities later down the line when the kids are all in call at once... And the various trolls lmao, and their future shennanigans. I also loved Dave's comments on the narrator! It was such a cute way to adapt the general vibe of how he talks to John about their nooby sylladex and stuff.

Massive agreement with Max! When I read Homestuck, I always tried to give Rose a pretty average sounding voice. I think it's kind of fun to have a character who is so intensely pretensions, and then you actually meet her and hear her talk and you remember she's just a nerdy kid.

It was so hype, I'm excited to see more. I loved all the little easter eggs and jokes, the voices were great, the animation style is a perfect mixture of the comic's general style and Hero Mode, plus the whole thing was genuinely smooth and nice to watch. It captured the spirit of the comic well!

I loved the hand!!! It made me remember just how much there is to be excited for. A bunch of my friends who are also fans didn't understand why it got me so excited, and it made me realize that they are going to get all the important details and chekhov's guns right. It's going to be pure cinema.
