fav bl's:
- my little inferno by nemui asada, its general premise is simmaler to my favrote book(midnight milkway to my little infernos normal milkway)+ i love how both of the main characters are and act
- akiyama-kun by aiko nobara, i dont know why but i am excited by this manga and check back every so often to see if there is a new chapter translated
- boy meets maria by kousei eguchi, it makes me cry extremly whenever i read it

ones i cant stand:
- any character from attack on titan x self
- motion emotion by thanat
- sober gamzee x anyone

what are YOUR favrotes and ones YOU cant stand Striderstan

@davestrider the kind of ships that make up my OTPs are the ones where both characters are broken/fucked up & their partner just kinda gets it or the kind of ship where they match each others freak. All of this to say that my faves are enemies to lovers or rivals to lovers.

@andt My fave BLs are Therapy Game + Therapy Game Restart by Meguru Hinohara, Bongchon Bride by Son Gaepi, & Punch Drunk Love by Moscareto & Okdong.

- Therapy Game series is so so good. The characters are super realistic and human and I love how one of the MC's trauma is handled and I genuinely can't recommend it enough

- Bongchon Bride can be intense at times but the dynamic and sweetness between the MCs make up for the harsher aspects of the story

- Punch Drunk Love is a romcom that I love deeply because the I love Seon-woo (he's just like me fr) & the dynamic between the MCs is genuinely super fun

The ones I can't stand are Love Stage, Absolutely Ruined Love, and Jinx. Love Stage is all around terrible in every way. Absolutely Ruined Love had awful/irritating main characters. And Jinx is just your typical awful abuser x victim BL.

YES HELLO!! just created an account to reply here, so like recently i have been watching bl anime havent been watching before and one MASSIVE complaint i have is that half of the bls i saw just feel like borderline sexual assault like what the fuck?

lets take for example love stage, yeah it was a little weird at the start but at episode 3 i had to drew the line like, i dont know how to begin to explain it just the love interest (or ig love interest he is on the cover) just comes to the house of the main character, demands that the main character takes off his clothes, and begins groping him while the main character is crying (mind that they barely know eachother), AND PEOPLE ARE PRAISING THE SHOW????

and i really adored "Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?!" (stupid title but i swear its good) and thats what brought me to bl anime in the first place, so uh, yall got some normal bl to watch?

also whats a fojoshi

but seriously, discussion of taboo subjects like rape is fundamental to BL and yaoi as genres. they have been vehicles for exploration of those topics since day one. if this makes you uncomfortable, that's totally understandable, but BL might just not be for you, on the whole.

@purpleprogrammer if you mean fujoshi it means a female yoai fan but you might also see it/fujo used as a community/self descriptor regardless of gender and fujoshi littearly means rotten girl orginally used as misogynist critique but later reclaimed

@fractalicMetaphors yeah i wouldnt call that the correct kind of heat but different people different opinions, but saying bl is not for me because of that i think is just not right i do like some of it, i just like the light and cute ones, also its not a taboo subject its a crime? rape is taboo excuse me dirk strider???

@fractaliametaphors I get what you're saying but in this case I think their main complaint is that the subject is usually handled pretty poorly at least in mainstream BLs it is. Also, rape and SA isn't like a staple of the genre. There are plenty of BLs for people who don't want to consume stories that include SA or have a Red flag MC/ML. Me personally, I don't typically seek out BLs with rape or SA because I'm used to it being swept under the rug or downplayed by the end

@purpleprogrammer I can't say I have that many for you to WATCH cuz I mostly read BL but Stranger by the Shore is good movie. Doyuuskei is a really good comforting movie to watch. There's also Our Sunny Days by
Jung Seokchan if you're interested in reading manhwa. Also Cherry Magic is on my watchlist I just haven't gotten to it yet sadlyyyy

my favorite BL is actually...technically not a BL? thing is, its centered around a female protaginist IS fujoshi and has this harem of guys who are obssesed with her, and she literally doesn't care. she just ships them all together. her ACTUAL love interest is a girl, so I guess its a GL...but I digress. it has both yuri and yaoi in it and its really good! It's called "Kiss Him Not Me"

ALSO I HATE JINX. This is just a personal gripe, but I cannot STANDDDDD mean love interests. Especially when the other character just...doesn't do anything about it?? The art is good, the scenes are good, but I just fucking HATEEEEEE Jaekyung or wtv his name is. Im sure he gets less TERRIBLE as the manhwa goes on, but it seriously irks me.

Hello! A bl that's stuck with me since I was 13-14 would be "never understand."Honestly it has been a while since I've read it, so I'm unsure if it's actually held up. It stood out to me when I was young because it was the first romance story in general that I read that portrayed a non-attractive main character.
