This is a thread for posting about indie RPGs, whether to recommend or to discuss. While some will use systems you might be familiar with, others will have their own, some of which can be very different from what you expect.
Here are three games I will start with:
-Flying Circus by Erika Chappell, a game that uses a heavily modified version of the Powered by the Apocalypse system about being a pilot in a fantasy world based on WW1 Germany. It contains some adult content, including sex and substance abuse. Includes discussions of racism, fascism, sexism, and other such subjects.
-Zephyr: An Anarchist Fantasy Game of Fleeting Identities by Araukuna Media is a game set on the wandering continent Ophoi whose breath produces the emotional four colored winds called the Zephyr. You play as a windfolk, sentient beings created from a fusion of the Zephyr, and must survive upon the Artwork here is gorgeous and the world is very unique. As its name implies, it has an Anarchist perspective with the main threat being the Salt States, which are Authoritarian and Capitalist.
-H.E.A.T: High Excitment Action Tabletop by Cybernetic Coven is a syshem That isn’t out yet but I have the beta for. It’s a diceless system that is primarily inspired by Mass Effect whose primary mechanic is Heat, a measure of how much danger you currently are in that you can increase in exchange for doing better, but risk Overheating, which is not good. The main author is a writer of erotica, including some stuff that is taboo, and the game has a relationship system (although the romantic parts are optional), but otherwise it should be fine.
Feel free to suggest your own!
I really like a TTRPG names Eidolon! It's inspired by the soul summoning power systems of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Persona. It's available on itch.io and there's a podcast where the creators playtest it. The first two seasons/campaigns, Eidolon Pop and Eidolon Rock, are very Homestucky in the second half.
Fear and hunger!!! Fear and hunger!!!
When the beat drops I'm going to fucking kill myself
This is about Tabletop RPGs, not video game RPGs.
Although I suppose it still counts, since there is a Fear and Hunger RPG.
I also have heard good things about Hard-Wired Island, also made by Cybernetic Coven.
Darn.
When the beat drops I'm going to fucking kill myself
