Consider: game where you befriend The Felt and every member makes the skip button do something different.
- Itchy auto-skips you to the very end of the route.
- Doze completely disables the skip button altogether, or maybe just advances at a rate of one message per ten seconds.
- Trace/Fin skip you forwards/backwards.
- Clover... uh.......
- Die teleports you to a route where he's dead.
- Crowbar destroys the skip button when you click it. Like, with his crowbar.
- Snowman crashes the game unless you do her route last.
- Stitch........ uh................
- Sawbuck teleports you to a random part of the route.
- Matchsticks only lets the skip button work if there's currently fire on screen.
- Eggs clones the skip button every time you click it.
- Biscuits............... uh........................
- Quarters teleports you to someone else's route.
- Cans teleports you seven messages ahead. I can't think of anything more clever than this.
If anyone has any bright ideas for Clover/Stitch/Biscuits please let me know. If anyone's really good at programming in Ren'Py please do this.
As a fun piece of bonus trivia: for those who don't know, you can get a joke bad ending in Aranea's route in Befriendus if you try to skip certain monologues.
Clover immedi8ly sends you to the good ending.
Stitch gets pissed 8ecause you skipping forward in time fucks up one of his eff8gies.
8iscuits's skip 8utton skips ahead in the time it takes you to read the current mess8ge (does nothing).
So irrationally angry I didn't think of that for Clover
As an alternative for Biscuits, when you click the skip button, he stops talking and climbs into his oven. The story continues as normal at normal speed, just with no Biscuits and no dialogue until you click the skip button again.
stitch mini game where you have to help him fix up the felt gangs dolls within a reasonable amount of time and care if not he rejects you by making your doll explode or sum DO NOT touch lord Englishes cloak he's fixing what happens could be a very bad ending or sum

The Felt have so much game potential! Can you imagine a Felt resource-management game where you're trying to herd cats the Felt through a constantly-shifting time-loop to get stuff done?

It sounds like "5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel," which is to say, a nightmare to comprehend but also that's kind of the point
