I'll start: seeing both woobification and vitriolic hate for him in real time is so surreal. Homestuck is so back. I feel alive.

For real though, I hope he gets to unlearn all the shit he's got going on. Or, he can not learn anything and be a great villain type character. Either or, really.

i think he's neat. making calls this early on feels like folly, we've only seen him talk twice and who knows how much of this is stuff he truly deeply believes in and how much of this could be him putting up a front of sorts. i do want him to get better. hell, maybe he gets way worse before he gets better.

i don't think it's a coincidence his exile/patron is Jane. the boy with fascistic views and old-minded thinking is being commanded by the woman with a similarly conservative inclination, who in another series of events went full fascist dictator? and they aren't gonna do anything with that at all??? maybe Jane can get him out of the pit she nearly wound up in, maybe he'll drag her back in.

there's also potential for it all to come crashing down for him when he gets into SHURB, since the whole meritocracy he aims to take charge of and prides himself on (dude you're the class president you shouldn't have a big head about that) will be utterly and totally annihilated via meteors. will he even care, at that point?

it's just a matter of having to wait and see i'm afraid...i'm hopeful though...if we can get Jane on a better path and DAVE//OVER let Equius also get on a better path...surely this dumbass 16 year old can do the same...

I think that i trust the HSBC team to use Swiss and the rest of the satyrs to say something poignant about societal structures and prejudice. There's been a lot of talk about dog whistles and some questionable ideologies coming from this guy, but i think that's pretty intentional. I can see that there is definitely going to be some commentary about racism and bigotry in a similar way that HS proper used the trolls to talk about classism via the blood castes. IMO the satyrs (or at least Swiss) are reading as sort of white savior figures, and i think were MEANT to read them that way. I'm super curious to see the rest of these guys and and what they're all like ideologically, particularly TC, as he seems to be the stand-out among the satyrs.

I just think it's hilarious that we went directly from funniest most lovable black girl to neoliberal-fascist white boy... if we're supposed to see these as "average" examples of the new species, their introductions paints a pretty clear picture lmao. of course, that's just a starting point.

Dude i love him. He's not perfect and that's great, on that same logic, he has a little tail wag animation and for that crime he is now my favorite character in all of homestuck. Plus that whole thing about how he doesn't kiss that marble bust 'anymore' smacks of internalized homophobia which could be from dirk, the socciety, him or some combination of the above. Literally my favorite guy in the whole world

idk i could be wrong but i feel like the discourse will evolve into something resembling eridan discourse, rather than vriska. maybe its cause both swiss and eridan are (as of now) racist

i like how they basically completely ditched the whole "aracial" idea for lylac and swiss. honestly think it was a good choice and will probably make for better written allegories and such in the future rather than something like the hemospectrum
