does anyone at HICU know more about this?? apparently there was really dicey shit happening between the owners of UHC and the homestuck team :(( if the end product is that the UHC is dead then that sucks because it was such a good thing for the community after the flaming mess of homestuck.com...

I do not have a single doubt in my mind that Gio is telling the truth. There is no innocent until proven guilty shit because Andrew is one billion times guilty for all of this shit. This UHC thing is just the latest wound in a long series of Andrew's abuses towards people who work with him or care about Homestuck. Nothing Gio said is out of the ordinary for shit Andrew was already known to be doing even recently.

Given the absolutely awful way that Hussie + his companies have interacted with others for years, I genuinely do believe that Gio is being truthful in what happened, but I do still very much believe that Gio's report on it is incredibly biased. I also know that the folks involved with the HICU are very very much proponents of creative freedom as many of them themselves have done things like made Homestuck merch, fan adventures, etc. So I look forward to seeing what folks have to say on it! Sugar to the mods, I hope folks don't stress y'all out too much here.
