waking up to this has been an experience, my boyfriend sent me a helluva boss x homestuck crossover merch and i thought it was fake till i checked literally everything on the internet.

overall really excited! lots of new attention towards homestuck around the same time a new session is about to start? fuckin awesome.

really worried with how theyre gonna handle characterization though, the trailer isnt too promising but also theres barely ANY dialogue so im willing to hand them the benefit of the doubt, maybe theyre gonna have a more solid grasp on character voice than the post canon guys? who knows! id hope so \(@^0^@)/

ill joke abt the "they made dave chalant" a lot but i actually do like his voice, johns too and im excited to see how theyre gonna voice the trolls. i guess this is as close to a "canon voice" we have...? maybe???? still not sure, this got sent to me as i was just waking up

Absolutely baffling decision on all fronts and I'm kind of torn between excitement and dismay. I like Homestuck and I like animation, and I love many Homestuck canon and fanon animations, but man, I just do not like Vivziepop's work at all. I'm not one of those people who indiscriminately shits on everything she and her studio has done, but I'm just not a fan of their general writing style. I watched Helluva Boss since it first started coming out and really didn't like the storytelling decisions they ended up making. If anything, I just hope this show will find some interesting way to transplant Homestuck's more meta and convention-breaking story and art elements into the medium of animation. The ways that Homestuck mixes genres and mediums is part of what makes it so special, and I don't know if a normal animated show can fully convey that in the way just reading the comic does.

i haven't felt this terrified since 4/13/2019. except this time the terror is even worse because unlike the epilogues this is gonna bring in NEW FANS who are possibly also VIVZIEPOP FANS -___-

i sent that too early. my prediction is that each episode is gonna have an original song and as the series progresses a weird amount of musical theatre actors are gonna lend their voices because it's vivziepop related and somehow she has all of broadway wrapped around her finger. they're also going to give dirk the gay accent if they ever get that far. i really can't take this anymore
