what music do yall like?

My 4 Favorite artists (Grabbed straight from my RYM page, because of coure i have one of those) are Will Wood, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Pink Floyd, and Spiritualized. Aside from them, I generally like Post Rock and Prog Rock, while also having found some pretty good Hyperpop lately.

I like emo and screamo a lot. cap'n jazz, new found glory, taking back sunday, silverstein, april's love affair, yellowcard, chevelle, plain white t's, chiodos, etc etc etc.. early emo has to be my favorite, but I have a soft spot for mid 2000s & early 2010s emo too. these don't showcase the screamo part, but I do listen to it a lot.

I also like patd's first two albums, fob, two door cinema club.. wouldn't consider these emo, but they had a large emo fanbase mid 2010s & that's how I found them. The Hush Sound had a lot of emo fans, wasn't emo in the slightest, but omg they have to be one of my favorite bands EVER. dgd was pretty sick in it's earlier years, also.

uefore, i like capn jazz too. one of my favourite bands, especially with the song "bluegrass". early emo is some of my favourite stuff too, along with rites of spring, embrace, moss icon, etc.

I got super into nu-metal a while back, not really my thing anymore but i still enjoy it once in a while (i prefer heavier stuff now, stuff like Death or Dystopia) im also into prog and post rock like Pink Floyd, Yes, Rodan, Unwound and others

For a rec listen to Bark Psychosis by Hex one of my favorite post rock albums

i feel like my music taste is kinda niche as i'm the only one in my circles who really listens to this stuff but i'm into theatrical / cabaret / circus rock. if you're interested, i recommend the venetia fair's "the circus" album. other specific bands i really like are sarah and the safe word, ludo, sycamour, the dear hunter, creature feature, k sera, my chemical romance, panic! at the disco, set it off... i think some of these bands go hand in hand. as in "if you like this you'll like that", y'know? anyway.

i started out with more firstwave hardcore punk but then moved on to hiphop and then settling in metal. ofc i started with nu metal but then in time i actually learned to get into the underground unlike most. as of now my favorite metal subgenres are sludge, death, and groove. along with sometimes thrash on occasion (fav band is sepultura). bdm is pretty nice too i dont play abt that cryptopsy or suffocation but i mostly prefer osdm. also im seeing crowbar/eyehategod in august bc im not a sludge tourist.

My favorite artists are probably Prince and Linkin Park, though that doesn't mean they're what I listen to the most on average.

the two artists i had on loop all morning today were chappell roan & boards of canada. which are pretty different from each other but both have no-skip albums imho

Most recently on my Spotify Liked list are Passion Pit, Cloud Cult, Suzanne Vega and Tyler.
As for favorites.. mm, I really love Dance Gavin Dance, I Set My Friends On Fire, Massive Attack and Touché Amore. On another hand I also really love Eurodance/pop, Trance and UK/2-step Garage (too many varied artists to reliably list LOL)

I listen to too much.. I'm not really knowledgeable on the subject but I am an appreciator of the arts. (ᵕ—ᴗ—)
