Really really loved y12000. I was posting so many screenshots of y12k to my groupchat, I loved every moment of this. I gasped at the lord english reveal. Spicyyeti's brain is so so amazing and hes so so funny.
I first found jaderoute and was so happy to find out there was a website where I could read more of Spicyyeti's works.

yess i really loved y12000!! used their classpects potential so well in it esp at the end <3..... also all the art by yeti is immaculate and makes me want to loosen up with a more cartoonish/graphical style. godheads on my reading list for upcoming bit for sure

genuinely one of the most personally impactful things I’ve ever read..the premise is so fun and the art blows me away every time. the opening is as bizarre as it is awesome i loved every second of this comic!! it explored so many cool things especially roxyside and it inspires me so much to take risks in storytelling and art!! absolutely love all of spicyyeti’s works. this is consistently cited as one of my favorite comics OFALLTIME

reading y12k really inspired me not only as a fanartist, but as a dirkroxy lover and enthusiast. without this comic i would never have gone out of my shell or what was "safe". also, spicyyetis y12k promotional art is seriously underrated, and all of them have been bangers!!!

you guys can rant as much as you want here JKLDADSA we're not on twitter anymore...we're free... i appreciate hearing peoples unfiltered thoughts on y12k since it was the one work that actually didn't get much feedback when i finished it? i think people were scared to discuss it on homestuck twitter

indeed. first up, dirk.

as someone with like, relevant work experience regarding skin/silicone... reading the detailing of his degradation and transformation set my head spinning. and it all clicked: so much of the machined man fantasy (both with fantasizer as the machine and the... machinated upon) straddles the line of the upgrading of the flesh and the attached limitations. the body is strong as steel, and just as heavy. a mind running a million miles a minute, yet vulnerable to an errant glitch. botulinum toxin stops the hands of time and robs you of expression. dirk, the master roboticist and god enhancing himself to action figure perfection, can't (or doesn't want to) prevent the technorganic equivalent of full-body graft stick drift. the way this dichotomy is portrayed upon him, his form overtaken by rebellious lipomas on one half and twisting unto itself on the other, kinda sorta raised the bar for the myriad of hypothetical robobeaus. it's a design that really reckons with what it means to get wrecked on. thee secret sexy cyborg man.

and then, roxy.

i can't stress enough what a joy roxy is to behold in this comic. it runs through his design, his ethos, what he works to bring to fruition. and the joy doesn't fully register until you regard the tapestry of lack from which it must rise.

i looked through the concept sketches, the analysis of a timeline for his sartorial evolution. the visuals underlining the message within the dialoglogs: why bar yourself from the kind of beauty that brings you strength? let the cat out of the bag! i grew up on monster high, my little pony, the salad days of fashion tumblr, dress up games by the hundreds. years later, i confronted the he within me and the 'necessary' trade of one for another.

in the timeline, i recognized the hiding. the diminishment of oneself. the half-steps. and here, in this latest-game thought exercise, i recognized one who overcame that confrontation with the ease of overcoming a building block on the floor. like. the boots! the hair! the silk panty with attached 60 denier hose shorts!!! fuck!!!!

roxy and dirk came up from the empty echo of society and evolved into the maddest scientist and his six million splinter man. they are the babylon boys: the mated monuments to masculinity's last, deadliest crashout. i don't know how long roxy hid in the void, and i don't know how long he hid in plain sight. but in or beyond canon, the hiding is over.

may we all find what we lost in the negative space.

one thing i super love about y12k & roxy's design is how much he's evolved from jade route. it really lines up with what he talks about in y12k 1 about how being a man is not about what he wears but about who he is and his struggle with gender presentation and how he's freed himself. yeas <3 i love it.

i literally just finished reading y12k and I thought it was awesome! super weird and out there in terms of setting and concept, but with a grounded humanity and narrow focus on a deeply explored relationship. The talk exploration of gender, and how Dirk and Roxy experience it, how their experiences of it change through their relationship to each other, it's all soooo compelling with really beautiful art.

I wish there were more not just because it was a story that I loved, but because I really have some questions about, the fallout of the ending, let's just say since this forum doesn't have spoiler tags yet lol. Still, I really loved what was there, it's a fanwork that is so confident in its own identity it's kinda hard not to obsess over it haha
