i need to get back in here. has anyone else been listening to the new vildhjarta? i feel like it's really, really strong, although i think maybe less cohesive as an Album, but ive really found myself stuck on these tracks, they're fucking VICIOUS.

particular standouts for me have been:
+ två vackra svanar +
+ sargasso +
+ där mossan möter havet +
+ kristallfågel +
+ den spanska känslan +

i feel like it's been really hard to get people into vildhjarta which... makes sense. maybe not the most accessible metal there is. but i really feel like you owe it to yourself to give them a try if you're down to take a trip to the heavy side.

... as the ancient hawaiians used to say.

I was a teenager when Metropolis Part 2 came out and remember it absolutely blowing my mind.

If you enjoy Dream Theater and haven't listened to Nightwish, I would strongly recommend them.

ive been listening to a lot of Keygen Church lately. it's like if Bach started incorporating synth metal into his works.

@jonayariley thats actually crazy i wasn't even born yet

the first dt song i heard was panic attack and my mind was so blown i listened to octavarium instantly after and the title track blew my mind even more

also i'll try to listen to that band that sounds cool and if you want a recommendation from me there is a small band called Nospun that has a very dream theater sound but i think their songwriting is better than what DT has been putting out recently

@arcanearsonist keygen church is really cool but i actually learned about them through their other project, master boot record, which is themed around technology and computers and the music is very chiptuney and robotic sounding

Kyuss and Queens of The Stone age are some of my favourite bands. The stoner/doom metal world is also quite lovely.

Gotta have music for blasting across deserts and all don't we?

I HIGHLY Recommend viewing the music videos associated with the "Like Clockwork" album.
