favorite transfem hcs ?

Dave Strider is the biggest egg i have *ever* seen, and if there is any good in this world we will see this made manifest in hsbc.

june, dave, jade, vriska, kanaya, jake, tavros, calliope. those are my Big Big homestuck transfem HCs. i'm also pretty attached to transfem rose. and i like transfem roxy- i've written her as such before- but i also really love epilogues & HSBC roxy's arc. i enjoy transfem hal as well but it's not as important to me as other HCs. i DO really like transfem equius, but i'm pretty picky with how people write her.

in HSBC i really like transfem tavvy. she is like a little baby egg to me. i have also seen transfem harry before and i enjoy it, but it's not as compelling to me as tavvy.

glad other people are mentioning jake here because i've always seen jake as a trans-fem nonbinary person who hasn't come to terms with their identity yet

Any and all transfem headcanons are amazing to me (excluding Eridan transfem, sorry)! But my favorites are Kanaya, Vriska, June, and Dave. I think they all are an amazing chance to explore the different sides of being transfem and different experiences, though my absolute favorite would have to be Kanaya.

Vriska and Kanaya I just read as trans women, June I am very excited to see that storyline play out however it does, and I have some ideas for how it might, and then I don't think it makes the most sense in "canon" but I like to think of Callie as transfem and Davepeta as transfem nonbinary :>

On the inverse, Homestuck has a few characters that are leaning towards transfem, but end up refusing to follow through on it (to their own detriment). Equius is a very direct example. His overwhelming masculinity is a cross between a mutation and a curse. That freakish strength is touted as a boon by most of the cast. But he's unable to use the weapon he actually wants to use (which in RPGs, bows are popular among the girls). His creepy infatuation with Aradia also contains a bit of gender envy. Equius makes a feminine body using his own blood. I think that needle threads itself. But time and again he refuses to surrender his masculinity because Equius venerates power. He fully believes he was given a position of privilege as a birthright and a duty to Alternian society. And before you start with the "Isn't Alternia run by a woman," Equius's ideological hierarchy stops at the highbloods. Also Porrim already covered that issue.

Eridan's in a similar boat. In order for Eridan to realize he might be happier as a girl, he'd have to get over his manosphere worldview.

Lots of people bringing up Vriska. Does that count as a headcanon? It's so baked into how she acts, to me.

Well, anyway, I don't find myself too strongly assigning trans headcanons to many characters. I think it's more like... As a rational consequence of masculinity and gender being such a present and crushing force in the comic, the cases of it are very cut and dry. It's only reasonable that Equius and Eridan both seem performative and like they need to be set free. It's super normal to get the forcefem mallet out around half the cast.

In seriousness, I might give it to Rose. It's old but gold (thanks Alyson Greaves) and on the whole the Lalondes have A Lot Going On with femininity.

OH also I'm a big fan of transfem equius but that's a difficult one because. well. you can see how people might get a little weird about that one

I think the reason a lot of space aspect players are transfem is because of how the space aspect is written. Space players are constantly overshadowed, isolated, pushed into making themselves smaller, and generally undervalued despite being insanely powerful. It's very easy to interpret that as a transfeminine thing. Note that in-comic andrew hussie (who is different from the irl one, yes, that's fair) wears a space aspect shirt at one point

Also yeah "transfem cronus" is absolutely wild. Sure just call the guy who puts on different identities like costumes to lower people's guard a trans woman, I'm sure that's not reinforcing any harmful stereotypes out there /s

im seeing a LOT of dave mentions and thats always my go to for eggs... that said, as much as i normally dont care that much about the dancestors i think transfem latula could be really beautiful. there's honestly very few characters i WOULDN'T read as transfem.

this thread is making me realize it's been 7 years since i made a cis friend but i spent 6.5 of those years thinking i was cis and i still trick myself about half the time. i can no longer distinguish trans behavior from cis behavior after so many years of "everyone thinks/does that". hardly anyone reads as transfem to me, not even vriska.

i know how important transmasc karkat is to people but honestly i think she's transfem. to me this is the impotent rage and permanent dissatisfaction of someone pre-transition, not someone who's fully passed as their gender for years. and his total inability to live up to masc standards despite trying so damn hard helps.

There is ofc the others that people here have been saying (Dave, June, Vriska, Kanaya, Calliope [this is basically canon to me], Jake, etc), but I have to mention transfem Karkat. I know it's decently underground as a hc, but a old friend of mine (that we sadly drifted away from, harper on the off chance that you see this PLEASEEEE message me, I miss chatting in the icebox!) convinced me that Karkat could make a beautiful woman.
