re:ruki right!! we're gonna get so many fresh eyes, and new perspectives on classpecting and lore and opinions on quality and i think itll be really awesome to get some new voices! im really excited to see what new ideas people bring in and cool fanartists from other fandoms... i hope i can make friends :D

also if this gets my classmate who wears hazbin shirts into homestuck im excited LOL

i honestly just wanna see the arguments that will happen between comic readers and the anime watchers.

Personally, I'm gonna make a wild guess that there's going to be some kind of divide; some fans will end up being Homestuck (comic) purists while others won't care, and some fans will end up being Homestuck (show) purists.

It'll spark some kind of outrage amongst the fandom, plus most fans I've seen don't seem to have actually read the comic... 0_0

Then there are going to be people like me who will enjoy any medium in which we can consume Homestuck content.

I'm mostly wondering how they're gonna work in the class+aspect system and if they're gonna expand on it in the show or if they're gonna bullshit us some more on that front. I really hope that with HSBC and the Homestuck show we'll get more info on how they actually work, but chances are that it'll just lead to more speculation, which will lead to more divide, which will lead to less people wanting anything to do with Homestuck because the fandom can't calm the fuck down for long enough to agree on anything.

All-in-all: I think the show will be a good thing for us as fans, but a bad thing for us as a fandom.

i found all the people soapboxing about how awful this will be or how the entire thing is a joke way more annoying than possibly having to share a space with viziepop fans (a thing i was are already doing, will keep doing, and would've been doing without the announcement).

its also only a pilot and may not become an actual series, i'd wait for an actual series to be confirmed before people start worrying about a manga/anime only fan divide.

i can only feel excited, i KNOW there is so much potential for weird and scary things to happen, but... that isnt anything different, we know what to expect for the most part, so just watch out for who you surround yourself with! ive been in the fandom since 2012, its been a wild ride and im excited for this knew chapter to open up for all of us!

Hyped for more people to interact with, gonna try to get my friends into it via the cartoon pilot even if they only watch it via the show. :D
