i like forums better i feel less pressured to find clout and i can post and reply whatever i want without fear of saying something stupid and getting mass pqrted. i only have a privtwt for my friends plz #help me how to use twitter becouse why does every public hstwt acc have at least a starter 50 mutuals but me
scroll up and down to make them jump!!
TRUST ME. IT IS WAY LESS ENTERTAINING THAN YOU WOULD THINK.
>how to use twitter
Don't. (๑>•̀๑)
In all seriousness, block everyone and everything you even slightly feel bad over, curate your following, and pray to whatever deity (or Flying Spaghetti Monster) you believe in. I've largely abandoned it in favor of Tumblr though.
i am a little shocked reading about the homestuck twitter world. i think you have to avoid approaching it as one big mass--don't try to join hstwt, just tweet about homestuck and follow people you like, etc. things will happen naturally from there. i think it's when you start to think of it as a big club that things start to spiral and get crazy. we are supposed to be having fun!
I never fully Got hstwt. It always read to me as a bunch of reactionary people biting at each other for no reason other than to seem like the biggest person in the room, instead of like. I don't know. A gathering of people who like the same thing and talk about the same thing. It just feels like a cesspool. I never understood it. Im glad spaces like this can exist, fraf seems like a MUCH more chill fandom space than hstwt.
You join hswtwt by posting the biggest coals ever and passing them off as legit takes
Yeah, I generally try to avoid any subsections of twitter... even the most basic and 'friendly' ones get really cliquey really fast. Sealtwt has constant drama even though its nominally about seals, for example. I just use my twitter account to post hot takes into the aether and retweet art that I like, at this point.
Hot metal looks like cold metal, but feels different.
There's a Homestuck twitter...? Wow.
I doubt I'll be touching that part of Twitter with a 10-foot pole, but I wasn't planning on touching any part of it with a pole of any length, really. Forums and (some) Discord servers are pretty much the only decent social spaces on the internet these days. So, it's a good thing to have this forum! ^-^
twitter my beloathed. hs tumblr is much better/more low pressure and easier to join in my opinion!
omg honestly this whole thread is so real-
im pretty new to homestuck and ive honestly been too nervous to interact with anyone online after seeing wayy too much going on with both twitter and tiktok homestuck fans-
I was also really nervous cosplaying homestuck for the first time this year, but i ended up meeting really nice people who recognized me and were either super hyped to see homestuck still being cosplayed, or were in cosplay themselves and we took photos together-
(definitely gave me more confidence for interacting with other people in the fandom)
talking on this forum is really the most ive ever interacted with the fandom online, and im really pleased with my experience so far seeing as everyone's been really nice and chill so far :'D
I would say though, twitter is a very spooky place, I'd definitely recommend tumblr from past experiences in other fandoms, and I also have started trying to post some more homestuck related stuff out there
(I also just see less negative interactions on tumblr, both within the homestuck community and other fandoms im in, just at the cost of it being a mildly less popular site)
aw yeah, awesome signature
hstwt is a nightmare. hstumblr is a nightmare. homestuck fans are predominately 13yr old autists and they are nutorious for being a nightmare. sure there are some sane people but they are majority drowned out.fandom fame is always short lived anyways. if u want to be on hstwt more power to you but i would reccomend keeping ur distance ad much as possible from the ppl there. thats what i do anyways.
blah blah blah or whatever
I don't want to be the guy who points out the obvious but, Twitter is built-on you engaging with that sort of hostility and it'll keep showing you the same things you've been seeing on HSTWT.
Forums on the other hand, they dont really give you what you click on. You have to find it yourself, which I prefer much more.
Give my story a read, please.

well really the ideal move is to get off of twitter, get off of tumblr, get off of discord, get off of instagram, get off of facebook, get off of these forums, and then spend all day in a dark room doing nothing, but doing any one of these things individually is a start
yahoo! yippee! wahoo!
thanks for the input everyone. now if i ever join hstwt for real i'm gonna be one of those cool artists that posts art and fuck off and don't bother with the community. but i mean i'm already on tumblr for that so what's the point anyways sighh. and it's still elon's twitter so there's some AI bullshit going around too
