i guess everybody judt wants to use TikTok or twitter instead. this ain’t 2010 anymore bro. it’s all about that #SocialMediaAttention!!!
If you see me out in Quahog, say hi
But if you meet me at the Clam, I'm a talkative guy
Maybe we'll talk over beers and remember the time
And we know even at my Lois, I'm a family guy
Personally, I have crippling social anxiety. It feels less scary to talk on a forum like this though, so I hope it gets more popular. I don't like using discord for really like- anything.
I also just like how the forum looks. It tickles my brain pan.

To ease your worry a bit more, I'm sure there are some people will feel more inclined to join after the show runs for a bit longer.
I personally started reading homestuck very recently and felt reluctant to join the forums mostly because of the probability of seeing spoilers, conversations mostly correlating events further than I've seen, and just not being to participate in many of the discussions. I also just never participated in forum discussions, so everything is new, and I'm quite certain I'm not the only one.
Hopefully, with a bit more time, more people will show up. I checked the official discord shortly before trying out the forum and like was mentioned above, it's incredibly fast-paced and just not ideal for longer discussions, so I share your sentiments. I think that the forums being quieter actually adds to it's charm.
I like how slow forums are it's lowk helping me heal my brain. also I like how I can really remember people and make connections because its a much smaller community, I recognize 11/12 people that have replied to this before me because ive ether interacted with them or just seen their posts and been like "wow!! this person is cool" and my silly, very forgetful brain remembers them easier.

A lot of functions are on their way, we just have to be patient!
The technicians in the official teams are doing overwork all the time these days, as far as I know. They have to add functions to FRAF, but also to care about the technical side of Homestuck.com, whose re-updates may be more complicated to set properly than it looks like, and they also prepare a thousand other things. We're not seeing much from our side as audience/members, but we're seeing enough to guess they are all working hard.

^Yeah, I gather several people are pulling double duty on both projects, and Homestuck.com is the one with the more pressing deadlines! The grand re-upload has been really impressive so far: I've only spotted one minor issue (which got fixed in a matter of hours) and several very complex pages are actually working much better than they did pre-Flashpocalypse. Hopefully there'll be a chance to work more on the forums after Act 7 in a few weeks time.
I don't deal well with any social media that's busier than Facebook. I always found Xitter* like attempting to drink from a firehose, and I gather a popular Discord is much like that too. And unlike Facebook, forums tend not to be overrun with grifters, ragebait, dubious bot accounts and algorithmic fuckmuppetry.

A girl stands in her bedroom on her 26th birthday. As she waits for the mail-centipede to arrive, her fingers twiddle with her long grey beard. The beard twiddles back.
