I feel like jaderose was on the cusp of being a rarepair before they went and made it textual in HSBC. I call it "the other grimdorks" because both of them have actually gone grimdark/bark. But now that it actually happened I guess my rarepair is uhhhhh dirk and tegiri (the hiveswap troll)

jakenep i love jakenep. they would have so much fun adventuring with eachother, not to mention jake would have a worthy strife buddy since nepeta is suuper strong. Nepeta would like helping him kill the lusii around the island.

i also really love dirksol and gamdave sorry gamdave is the perfect spade relationship their dynamic is so fun. i think a lot of people forget dave played a part in gamzees insanity spiral.

dirksol is kind of hard to explain but i feel like they'd get eachother on a lot of levels, both when it comes to struggles bonding with their team & their general perception of the world. im also really biased since they got together in tomodachi life and watching them go on dates is really cute.

last but not least jadefef is ADORABLE but im still not sure if they're actually related or not. they have such far seperation in their family tree and i've heard a lot of people say they dont have a problem with it since (biologically atleast) they arent related either but. SIGH i still dont know. i think their canon interactions are hilarious though i loove them.

Oh, plenty to choose from. I've both written and engaged with a couple of fanworks that enable really specific ships... So, in the interest of my own rotten little brain I'll say June<3<Handmaid. Frankly she could also hateflirt with the Condesce. More people should do blackrom June.

In general... June/Jasprose is cute. When I first finished Homestuck I enjoyed the idea of Junezee moirails (disassociation buddies) although that's complicated and Muse Calliope didn't help.

And Dirk/Rose/Rezi has got something weird and compelling going on, but I don't think that's rare. I hate them. (affectionately.)

HALQUIUS. i love halquius forever. in canon its really interesting given the fact that they shared a sprite body, hypothetical future where they exist as themselves the sprite would have to seperate (i dont know if thats even possible but for the sake of this scenario it is) and that would frankly be a traumatic experience. arquius existed in this constant state of exhilaration, especially on hals side what with the euphoria of finally Having A Body (+some sort of gender euphoria given the degree that arquius is comically hypermasculine and i think masculinity is something somewhat prominent in dirks character (furthuring my transmasc dirk agenda) which is transformed into something different but still fundementally there in hals character, BUT THATS A WHOLE OTHER CONVERSATION) and then to all of a sudden have that ripped away. and nobody else in the world knows that feeling but hal and equius which would bring them together but in such a terrible way... as much as i enjoy flushed halquius, realistically i think they would be pitch. they would remember how they were as a sprite and simultaneously miss it and regret it and also blame eachother over all those feelings and at the same time they Understand eachother like nobody else could and they drive eachother insane and its just a mess !!!

theres also something about them making hal a body together. hal with his technical knowledge overseeing it and drawing most of the blueprints and equius with his previous experience and prowess with robots actually building the thing. in the hypothetical post-canon halquius timeline this would be before they made their kismesissitude official so theyre just kind of pitch flirting over the course of multiple months while the body is being built which is kind of funny to me... but also when its done. regaining that euphoria of having a body even just for a little while, i dont think hal could deny that he is really grateful for equius's help on the body because it wouldnt be possible without him. he wouldnt vocalize it but something flushed in there too??? who knows

ANYWAY all that does kind of hinge on the whole they were a sprite but separated thing and while i love that concept i think at a base level, without that, i do just enjoy their dynamic. theyre both kind of anomalous freaks who arent taken very seriously/disliked by most others and they both have self-esteem issues, equius thinking quite poorly of himself and hal thinking highly of himself to an exaggerated degree, maybe ironically to cover up an actual sense of self hatred that he inherited from dirk. even just hal swearing a lot and equius hating swearing, low hanging pitch material but alternatively very cute flushed scenario where hal doesnt swear around eq because he knows he dislikes it, it would take a whilee to get used to but its the effort that counts <3 also kind of a reach but equius gravitating towards heart players with hal and nepeta :)

AND MENTIONING NEPETA i do have to talk about her because you cant talk about equius without talking about nepeta. honestly i think she would just be happy equius managed to fill another one of his quadrants LMAO hes such a loser he has no bitches </3 i think hal and nepeta would get along well, they would like. gossip about their friends over tea. love that for them

there is this one fic with them that i really really love, theyre BARELY in it and its mostly just hal + you have to read another veryyy long fic to understand it but it is one of my favorite interpretations/versions of them everr and ill take what i can get :v its called The Future Soon by Unda on ao3 and the longer fic is called M.C. Escher that's my favorite MC (HIGHLY recommend both unda is such a good writer)

i have never heard of jakenep or gamdave before but i see the vision omg... i dont necessarily like the idea of gamdave but it does make a lot of sense, iirc all of their interactions are negative, neutral at best, there is mutual dislike from the start :0 AND JAKENEP IS SO CUTE dude strifing and adventuring and stuff they match eachothers energy so well !! and nepeta would actually treat him like a real human being with feelings, the poor man needs a partner who respects him

i think its funny that people are getting cranky about incest ship when 1. its homestuck, the incest is threaded into its clothes, and 2. people are happily shipping cronus and docscratch two wildly fucked characters (not saying you shouldn't ship them, just recognize the double standard yall, art is art) anyways.

I just remembered that I didn't mention VrisRose. Why didn't I mention VrisRose? It's a fun little blackrom situation, and before HS:BC, I'm pretty sure it was the most common "fucked up rosemary" thing to add spiderbites/etc. they're adorabale. and both kinda snooty. (Also, with the context of stuff like [S]8R8K, it manages to keep the spark alive even as the characters change. Isn't that sweet?

dersecest girl here yeah whoever said its not rare is kinda real, though it's definitely much rarer nowadays considering you'll get publically mauled on hstwt for it LMAO. the derse siblings are alive and well on ao3 with, IMO, some of the best written angst i've ever seen on the site. would highly recommend browsing that tag even if you aren't down with the scandalicious.

i see your point on the double standard especially with earth c, tavvy and vrissy are essentially cousins along with pretty much every human or troll who aren't the creators. That, and all trolls are incest.

so with homestuck defining incest is more of a kissing cousins vs kissing siblings discussion. they are both by definition incest, one pair is just more related than the other.

that all being said it should still be considered that tws are in order for threads open to and about the more blatant incest ships. i don't think incest shippers deserve to be mauled the same way people who ship adults with minors do, but it should still be recognized that it makes most people uncomfy so a tw or maybe putting it in a separate thread where anyone who complains was asking to be upset going there in the first place.

that's just my late night philosophy on it though. not to yuck any yums.
