Lmao thats really funny. Scott Pilgrim is kinda my personality too right now lol.

Mostly just Matthew Patel though because I think he's inherently hilarious.

Going back to this thread to talk about Scott Pilgrim again. I finished Vol. 3, the chapter I left off was chapter 14, and it felt really appropriate to open in that chapter because it was raining just like in the comic. and now that I finished reading that comic, it stopped raining, just like the ending of the book.

Revisiting volume 3 made me laugh. It was mostly me laughing at Todd Ingram. I think I took pictures of what I laughed at on my iPad. I'll put them on file garden and maybe say why i found it funny on here in a minute

So yeah I have been laughing at the Honest Ed's segment (did yall know that in the anime, Honest Ed's got renamed to Honest Ex's?)

That is the face of a man who is going to cheat on his girlfriend the moment she steps out of the room and thinks he's going to get away with this I hate him. (Not serious he's one of my favorite characters because while he may be an ass he's also entertaining especially in other media lol)

I also laughed at Todd during this flashback because I remembered he's like 14 and talking like that

loveeee scott pilgrim! i very vividly remember watching the movie for the first time in 2011 and i was obsessed with it for so long after that. was mega hyperfixated on the comics a few years back as well

Ooo that's a good question! I guess I'll have to go with the teal hair at the finale + the dress she wore! I thought she looked very pretty, plus I'd say teal is one of the colors that appeals a lot to me :]

To jump into the conversation out of nowhere, I must say my favorite hair color is probably the pink one. I know it's the main one, but it has a certain charm to it! It's good.

SP is so good, i really liked "Takes Off". when i was watching the first episode, i was honestly A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED, i thought it was not doing enough different to make a new adaptation worthwhile... LOL. the rest the series tickled me very much

i really love the comics, vol 3 or 4 are probably my favorites. HONESTLY FEEL LIKE IT COULD'VE ENDED AT 4.... o'malley even kind of says that in that book!

Also thats cool that you found the series worthwhile in the end. I enjoyed it a lot personally because I now had new content of my favorite character matpat.

I got into Scott Pilgrim because of a YouTube Poop of the movie back in 11th grade. I have all the color books and watched the anime, but so far I still haven't watched the movie and I don't know if I want to.

Getting into SP thru a YTP is so funny LMAO. I got convinced into watching the Scott Pilgrim movie because in 2023, I saw the music video of Black Sheep, sung by Brie Larson as Envy Adams! If you don't want to watch the movie then thats cool! The plot is still the same as the comic, except its more action focused and way more condensed rip. But for me thats okay cus it's basically my fave movie ever lol

My relationship with Scott Pilgrim is really weird. I wouldn't call myself a super fan but every once in a while I remember it exists and can't stop myself from rereading a few chapters. It's really fun.

I watched the movie for the first time last month. I thought it was pretty good. I think they did a good job of translating the comics in movie format even if the plot was a bit rushed (especially towards the end.) The comedy is gold though, especially the visual gags.

I'm really late to this thread but oh my God do I love Scott Pilgrim. We've owned the comics since I was incredibly little, and my first exposure to the franchise was through the movie when I was maybe 7 or 8. I fell in love with it immediately. As of now, I own three separate versions of the comics, as well as the game for Switch (we used to have it on Xbox 360, but we got rid of that a long time ago), as well as two DVDs... somewhere, probably in storage at our old house, and the original Scott and Ramona plushes (also in storage and sadly incredibly worn down).

It's also news to me that there's a new game coming out, but that makes me excited. I was really surprised by the success of SPTO, but I'm glad it introduced so many new people to it. The movie is the reason I love Edgar Wright so much as a director and Kieran Culkin so much as an actor. It's still my favorite movie to date and while there are certainly flaws with it I refuse to see them just because it's such a fun fuckin' watch. I practically have the script memorized by now with how many times I've watched it over the years.

A fun fact about the film: Nigel Godrich, who was the music producer behind the film, is/was also the producer for Radiohead and Beck. Which makes a lot of sense, and I feel shines through most with Sex Bob-Omb's style.
