@luminantpaladin I don’t think TC is a satyr? They seem to be using naglink like the rest and have their own squid picture, and if you think about tidal turn vs lap it’s literally just the same thing as days and years. (1 turn of the planet, 1 lap around the sun). If TC was remarking at knowing GC for more than a turn, this would mean…over a day? (1 year = anywhere from ~200 to ~450 turns, by my math, so close to 365. This is just based on the several thousand/hundred bit in her introduction- I assumed they’re given names at 13 like everyone else and I assumed “several” is between 3 and 9 max)

I've been won on TC being a satyr I think, but it's also very funny to imagine that he's a nymph who's just really into satyr culture lol

ohhh you make good points, yeah. still, I'm not sure if he does use the same chat client? his thing for opening a message with someone says hazing instead of nagging and he mentioned having separate chat clients. you're totally right about the time stuff though.

I guess this means there are probably only 3 nymphs and 3 satyrs- I had assumed withoht realizing that there’d be 4 of each like the humans. that makes the 6 player session make more sense… but also less :P Somehow I thought it was more likely there were 2 missing nymphs on her naglink.

So Satyrs, Satire, Parody, Critique, Fillies and horses MLP style. Hazing like an organization entry test (hazing is always dumb as bricks), laps around a track instead of tidal turns.

What I don't get is the nagging pun. Hazing makes sense, it's a pun on a shitty org entry test, but it also has ties to weather phenomena like haze. And it fits with the gardening motifs and seeding/torrent puns for water, internet, and as I said gardening with Shrub/Shurb. What is nagging in reference to? Is it a type of chewing or tugging like with a tentacle or suction cup?

The way this Deltritus session has started playing out is very true to form for Homestuck. More specifically, it's playing out like Act 5 Act 1. Additionally, the arrows consist of three equals signs (===>). The logical conclusion is that there's a six-player Nymph group and a matching six-player Satyr group, that will end up combining into one session.

However: let's dive deeper. Rose and Dirk are competing to see whose species will be the ones to play. At no point does this mean they have to formulate their strategy around the same type of session. Rose has picked to model Alternia (custodians, prophecies, weird biological stuff) since that planet had a fairly typical successful session. Dirk has no obligation to match Rose's style here; he's trying to beat it.

I am proposing that there is one Satyr. Or at the very least, one who is set up to play the Game. Dirk will be using Caliborn's dead session for inspiration; having created a single perfect being capable of soloing. This relates to how Dave was raised up/destined to be the hero. But if Rose is carrying the Alternia stuff herself, why six Nymphs instead of twelve? Well the easy answer is that there's six relevant trolls. If we look at the broader picture we get an even more fascinating numbers game at work.

We have 4 kids from Earth C (who represent the Earth session from Homestuck 1), 6 Nymphs (evidence-supported hypothesis), and 1 Satyr (wild guess). That adds up to 11 potential gamers. The number 11 corresponds to Crocker. Jane is obviously going after her child. And her journey to Deltritus is going to very much resemble a different Crocker invasion. And this time, Dirk can in fact blame himself for it. Not entirely, but he definitely stoked the flames for Jane to become an inter-timeline warlord.

For those still reading, I have one even wilder claim to stake. We've already seen sprite^2s. For 11 to become 12, we shouldn't rule out the possibility of somebody who has already participated in a session to boot up the Game a second time. With SBURB's themes of adolescence, the odds of this are startlingly low. However, if there was one character to do such a thing, my guess would be June Egbert: professional outlier. She's developed a knack for doing things beyond the scope of other characters over the years.

@yourfemperor I think it’s looking more likely now that there are 3 nymphs and 3 satyrs. We saw Ly’lac’s full chumroll as the scrollbar shows, I’m assuming with 2 other nymphs (AA and CC) and a satyr (TC). I have to say that the numbers don’t add up though. I thought it would be a general rule that opposite tags appear in sessions but we don’t have room for a GA, a GT, and a CG- there’s just one satyr slot left (if we assume CT’s a satyr). Also 10 feels like a weird number for a session, but they might not even be the same session. I guess it remains to be seen < Girl who can’t stop thinking about what their session(s) will look like

Most of the evidence about three nymphs, three satyrs is informed by the pages where the six flowers can be seen at the base of the mutated house. Later on, the red, cyan and purple colors appear again as dream bubbles. I believe this connects them to the horrorterrors, which are definitely related to the Nymphs. In that case, I believe the other three flowers are the satyrs. I would consider this to be supported because TC's violet color appears in one of those three flowers. He also has various flags throughout the conversation that identify him as a satyr. I think it is implied that CT is also a satyr, since it sounds like they knew TC before he was able to communicate with Ly'lac. I think currently, there is more evidence towards the idea that there are three nymphs and three satyrs. I do think the concept of them trying to run a solo session would be cool though... It would be a really awesome twist if someone on Deltritus is trying to make a session happen on their own.

@yourfemperor I really like the idea of june playing the game again!! I feel like it was already sort of set up and it would line up with the already established themes of adolescence imo... at least in my experience, being trans does feel a lot like growing up again!!

I'm pretty sure there's going to be six alien players TOTAL. Three Nymphs, three Satyrs.

what confuses me about the player number is that, supposedly, Rose and Dirk were making the species so that only one would play the game, so unless we have a mobius double reacharound situation, there may be some weird stuff going on. My bet is on it being two sessions, or like I said, it seems like two at first but they end up being the same.

I'm excited to learn more about the nymphs. I am also excited to see the swarm of nymph OCs that are about to come. X3
