I've noticed a lot of negative posts about beyond canon and was wondering if I'm insane or something for actually liking where it's going with the story?
I think most active ppl in the forums like beyond canon, at least the ppl in the discussion threads on here. I myself have been enjoying it! I love making fan aliens and theorizing on their societies. and I am happily anticipating for new info :]

I like it a lot!
I think it improves on a lot of the things I didn't like about the original. I find the writing direction a lot more agreeable than many of og comic plotlines. Plus, the art is very cool and polished, it definitely betrays some of the original's charm, but I think it's strikes a great balance and it's hard not to be a sucker for some of those panels and designs!
I can totally see why some people dislike it though. I feel like all Homestuck media is far from perfect. I have met a few Homestucks irl who said they hated it and I quickly realized that the reason why is because they never read the epilogues... I wonder how widespread that is in non fandom-intensive spaces like this forum.

At this point, EVERY fandom I'm in has a large, extra-shouty portion of the fanbase whose absolute creed is "The New Stuff is Automatically Bad, Because It Is New And/Or Woke." I've been pleasantly surprised on these forums to find that I can say "Actually, I really like the New Stuff" without two dozen keyboard warriors screaming their outrage and contempt at me for the next 48 hours. It's... refreshing.

literally no most people like it. whoever doesn't is just stuck up about it. sure, i have problems with the comic, and i don't really like the original hs^2 era part in the beginning (and kinda wish they did redo some of it... it's not that big of a crime guys) but the current stuff has included some of my favorite things in all of homestuck's extended canon. it's phenomenal writing (now it is at least), phenomenal art (all the friggin time) and... i don't have a third thing to call phenomenal. it's good. people like it because it's good. you're not crazy.
IT WAS KIND OF SLOW AND WEIRDLY WRITTEN IN THE BEGINNING BuT NOWADAYS THE COMIC IS PRETTY DAMN GOOD. I uSED TO BLINDLY HATE THE EPILOuGES/HOMESTuCKBC BECAuSE A BuNCH OF MY FRIENDS HATED THEM BuT AFTER READING IT! THEY ARE WONDERFuL!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE HSBC AND WHAT THEY'VE DONE WITH THE CHARACTERS! :)
