i dont care what the millenials say, some of you have no fandom culture despite being chronically online your whole lives. homestuck is gonna be flooded with hazbin hotel fans that think the usage of literal baby cartoon tactics are genius writing. do you really want to see the 14 olds in the helluva boss fandom talking about vriskcourse
its not vivzie its one of her writers #lolmao
@i-am-your-lord
careful friend a lot of buzzwords coming your way
Genuinely why are you even here if this is something you're so concerned about? Shouldn't you hate Homestuck bc Damara exists? Or are you just a hypocrite lmfao
Homestuck's reputation has already been metaphorically stamped on, dragged through the mud, tarred and feathered, and strapped into roller-skates while expected to juggle flaming torches with next to no practice. There's not much they can do to "ruin its reputation" other than just make people say "oh my god homestuck fans are annoying" (WHICH ISN'T ANY SORT OF NEW THING!!!)
It's almost cyclical in getting new blood so to speak into the fandom for big parts of it, and it's HEALTHY to have new blood come into a fandom rather than let it dwindle and fade further into obscurity. (LARGE UPDATES IN THE PAST, HIVESWAP, AND EVEN UNDERTALE AND DELTARUNE HAVE ALREADY CAUSED IN THEIR OWN RIGHTS A FAIR BIT OF NEW BLOOD COMING INTO THE FANDOM THROUGHOUT THE YEARS!!!)
this is probably wasting my breath (typing? whatever) but if you tried to avoid every single thing that has some horrible person working on it at some point or another youd have very little to do with yourself. Maybe play hoop and stick.
Have you noticed how in like tv shows, movies, video games all that kinda stuff they tend to have lists and lists of people who worked on them? Even books often have multiple people behind the scenes though thats less obvious. Usually we do not know if any of those people are bad until something happens.
Have you heard of the video game Elebits? wonderful thing. very influential to me. One of the main artists for the first game and lead artist for the sequel went on to do Made In Abyss. And I tried. I read way more than I probably should trying to find a scrap of truth that all that horrific stuff is for drama for horror to make you uncomfortable but no. Its not. It is meant to be titillating to a specific group of people and it devastated me. But he was not the only person who worked on Elebits. Just one hand of many. The game is still charming and fun and sweet and I love it dearly, even if there is a stain that only showed itself many years later.
Now i dont care about hellaverse. I dont really like vivzie shes annoying at best and has been stuck in a horrific never ending discourse vortex of her own making for over a decade. But she isn't the only person on those shows, hell you even say that one writer is the rape fetish person. When it comes to the homestuck pilot her sole role is producer. She's basically just bankrolling the thing. Producers have very limited input on the actual creative process side of things. Just a wee little stain on a (hopefully fun) work. And who knows maybe in a year or two we'd find something awful about one of the voice actors or someone on the animation staff or whatever. That doesn't make the whole thing a lost cause.
Now of course there are exceptions to the rules. if someone like, say, JKR, goes on and announces that every single cent she earns from her work is going to fund transphobic causes then... That's kinda when you gotta give something up because even on HP things she doesn't directly touch shes's still getting those $$$. But also if its a series you watched/read before knowing about how JKR is you dont have to beat yourself up over liking it. A LOT of people liked the damn thing thats how she can do what she does. You can have fond feelings for a thing you once supported but no longer do, a bit of nostalgia.
Mind crimes are not real. No one can hurt you for having a thought in your mind.
Like Dilettante says. HS has been categorized as "one of those cringe things from the early 2010s". There's not a lot of things anyone can do to change that and, at this point... well, I mean, that's their opinion and I'm not really interested to change their minds.
I would rather wait for the Hellaverse fans to come before making old woman judgments, lol.
Homestuck is terrible lol. Like just fullstop, I love the comic and the story, but that doesn't mean it's a good story. I think lots of us here know Homestuck is bad but we don't care and just like it anyways despite all of that. I think judging others for their bad taste when you're a fan of THE worst thing ever is a pot meet kettle moment I'm ngl lol.
And Homestuck is the REASON fandom spaces are so terrible anyways. The OG fans were those cringy horrid 14 yr olds with no fandom etiquette indulging in Vriskourse.
i'm old enough to remember that homestuck has always had a shit reputation because people hate queer teens, we don't need to act like we're better than the new ones that might potentially come in
"Without love, it cannot be seen."
also homestuck is good if you actually sit down and read it and don't let yourself read it through fandom discourse eyes
"Without love, it cannot be seen."
Most of the Homestuck Fanbase doesn't realize that a grand majority of Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss fans don't give a shit about Homestuck because they have a stigma against it because of the reputation it had in the 2010's.
Besides, as far as i've noticed, some Hellaverse fans are
all the 14 year old hellaverse fans that may or may not come running into this fandom will probably be no different than the then-14 year olds that built this fandom at the beginning. the cycle continues. having some fresh blood that doesn't know internet history might even be fun, we'll get some new Internet Canon Events just like the good ol tumblr days. this could very well revive the internet for a little bit
we can't complain about the fandom being sooo dead and starved and then also be mad when the younger generation finds it. they'll mellow out in time. the Only way a fandom stays "alive" is through the younger generation finding it and growing into it as others grow out of it/aren't able to give it as much time anymore.
anti homestuck i hate those guys
Also I haven't actually seen any of the Hazbin/Helluva Boss fans be volatile and toxic, it's just other Homestucks lol. Chill out a bit.
also perhaps its hypocritical to point it out because im only 2 years older than You, but are you.. seriously geeked about teenagers 1-4 years younger than you finding this series..? i fear this is the exact concept of turning 18 and instantly going minors dni mode, but with a homestuck coat of paint
anti homestuck i hate those guys
that’s enough of all this i think
