@bigchalupa I drew a really terribly proportioned Terezi lewd once upon a time, by that logic I'm also next on the chopping block even if no one really saw it or cared (sadge, I was proud of it all those years ago when I uploaded it lol). Hard agree, fuck the puritanical culture all the way into the sun, it's killing art and hurting primarily marginalized people. Beyond canon channel has some nsfw jokes and light hearted stuff sometimes but that's because of the nature of the work is inherently an adult piece of media so the mods let it fly because it's canon relevant (that's fine, keep that as is please lol).
Children and malicious adults that are drawn to the censorship grift are a big problem with society. This is like a university trying to fire a teacher because a student cyberstalked & found her onlyfans. I post lewds online too from time-to-time, by those people's logic I'm also a predator because uh oh what if the children™️ find it? I don't have time or energy for people's specter of the child bullshit that they use to blatantly harm others and kill art in it's entirety.
It's okay to be emotionally charged, I was when writing this post and making my initial replies. I'm so tired of us transfems getting the shit end of the stick and this made my heart sink seeing it, but it needed to be said all the same. I hope your friend is doing okay and is in a safe spot. 💜 I'm mutuals with some of her mutuals, but that's my only frame of reference personally. With enough cyberstalking my juicy AO3 stories can be found and read. Slut shamey ass culture is fucking ridiculous 100%. Thought crimes aren't real and having lewd times outside the server also aren't illegal. All of these harassers should be getting banned for presumably breaking the rules so many damn times. Regardless of the target, this is embarrassing like you said and absolutely unacceptable. Transfems are always getting accused of pedo shit, getting pedojacketed, and it's fucking exhausting.
I hope this will be a growing moment for the server as I'd really like to stay, this is my special interest and comfort fandom, but that'll be up to the mod team and the admins over time to make sure stuff like this is taken care of so that it's a safe space for it's large swathes of lgbtq+ and neurodiverse fans. 💜 Andy's response gives me hope and remember y'all, these mods/admins are people too and should also be held accountable like we are. They can make mistakes, but it's important to still be accountable for it, to be a compassionate human being or whatever kind of kin. It's okay to make posts like I have if something is wrong, don't be afraid to speak up.
@lyndis no one was talking about posting actually lewd shit in the server, you brought that up yourself. Your justification is as bad as the purity culture you hopefully unknowingly just defended. Please self-reflect and have a nice day. 07
I do agree though, an 18+ channel would be nice, but the victim shouldn't have to be constrained to that section just because she posts lewd art outside of the server. I hope you understand that.
@bigchalupa yep I second everything you said. 💜 It's talk like that which leads to all the issues we're having with paypal, stripe, steam, libraries, EVERYTHING. It also leads to trans women being falsely pedojakceted.
@gamze it is hopefully being taken care of and remember even if a server mod ever makes you uncomfortable, speak up over here in the forums, make a fuss. These posts take more buttons and whistles to get deleted than a discord message. Make it known something is wrong. Not saying things can't be fabricated but the mutual mods between forum and server can deep dive into it and find out what's going really on and at least become aware that something is going on.

i worked in a library for a long while so ive like. ive seen some of this behavior in person and how its used to attack media used to make kids feel seen and heard. and like. it stops being about protecting children when it actively harms children, all because the idea of your kid reading "the gays" makes you uncomfortable (royal you, not actual you). it makes me really angry really quickly LOL, especially in the context of literature and art.
anyways all of this to say i hope things settle down soon. i think it will, but it is so annoying and tedious to see in the meantime. can we be adults about this, like. can we be so for real. can we put our thinking caps on for 10 seconds and realise that this logic is a slippery slope that leads to real harassment and attacking of marginalized groups and actually serves no purpose in protecting those it claims to protect? thanks

@lyndis that sort of attitude would imply that because I post lewd stuff on bluesky that I too should be confined to an 18+ only section and not be able to engage in any spaces with children present, you hear how that sounds right? I just wanna make sure you're hearing how you sound and how ridiculous of a request that is. 18+ section I'm all for, but the rest is a no go.

@gamze it's no problem at all, despite it all, I try to be optimistic. 💜 If a server can't run without a bunch of bigots & harassers in it, maybe it shouldn't run at all and I'll die on that hill. 🔥 Hopefully it doesn't come to that though obviously, I want the server to grow and be healthy and feel safe for marginalized people.
I have a question to all here: why is any of this even an issue? I'm not knocking the point at all, I'm actually trying to drive a parallel one right in beside it. If any of you were on the old Forums, you would remember that no one cared about this kind of thing because we were allowed to kind of just do whatever we wanted and the more heinous stuff was taken care of by mods. How did we get to a point where someone doesn't like something someone else is doing so much that they ban people from whole platforms so they can't even have a voice? How did parents get so lazy that they don't send children outside, they don't discipline them (like some of us were, the right way), and they have free reign because the parents don't actually CARE about paying attention to their kids. I'm sorry to go off like this, but I do not speak out of character often anymore and it just needs to be out of my mind. I'm keeping a positive mindset... But this world is going to shit because of the indifference of parental figures, Homestuck called it, and now we are suffering at the hands of fate. MiRaClEs work in mOtHaFuCkIn mysterious ways.

@gamze unfortunately yeah its an issue because some parents want corporations AKA governments to babysit their kids for them and there's a ton of people willing to hop on that grift if it enables them to bully and silence people they don't like. They might not even believe in all the values of the censorship grift but if they can "shut that woman up" (or insert any marginalized identity here) they'll follow any grift they can to make it happen. Some people just want power over others and I think we saw a glimpse of someone using that status as a mod to use it for evil today, y'know all allegedly since idk who has what kind of money and all that stuff. Inaction is an act of aggression because you just know that same anonymous mod would probably go all in on someone else getting harassed, but protecting a minority that's currently the most targeted and popular one to hate? They said "no thanks not my problem" basically, but as a mod it literally is their problem per the rules of the server. I'm rambling but yeah it's all connected, always has been. :/ Not gonna get into what "proper discipline" means as I've found that's a red flag to hear from some people, but I get what you mean otherwise. Child neglect is a hell of a drug for certain groups and lobbyists.
I actually do think that, at least before this, the people harassing the artist in question were getting banned, and maybe still are. She said that people would @ her to accuse her of whatver-it-was, and get banned seconds later. Kind of like she was the slice of fruit forming the bait in the harassment fruit-fly trap. And it seemed to have been working well, so the mods should actually be incentivized to keep her around, if anything. I imagine the mods like having her around, but some higher-up thought it would be bad PR to have a pornographer in the server.
@meowmoment whoever said that shit should honestly have mod privileges revoked or set aside for a strict talking to if it were me I'm gonna be so honest, but yeah by proxy she is a good way to get bad faith trolls banned a lot faster which is also good for server health.
@forgotpassword I was afraid of a Psycholonials situation, but hopefully this one is the ONLY one and we don't have a sleeper on our hands.

I have nothing to say about the moderation since she appears to have walked back some statements, but, fuck every single person who was involved in harassing her. People who police what artists draw are quite literally inhabiting a fantasy world and fighting ghosts. No one is being protected by these witchhunts, they are just mob attacking someone who has never done anything to anybody in order to make themselves feel better, in order to win some imaginary victory over imaginary evils.

but yeah I’ve seen the shift from sending ppl shock vids and screamers n shit to a lot of ppl taking a step back and going “yeah we probably shouldn’t be doing that kinda stuff anymore” to the full opposite end of the spectrum where you can’t even show a nipple! its weird to see happen. when can we go back to the most reasonable (imo) approach of having enough sense to not send Highly Upsetting things to strangers unannounced but also being fine with 18+ stuff existing in little sign posted spaces. Why one extreme or the other… why can’t we have peace and love on planet earth
