I feel like I'm relatively new compared to a lot of the fans I see, I'm just about approaching my 2nd year anniversary of starting homestuck for my girlfriend's birthday. I was meaning to read it anyways because Undertale is my favourite game of all time and it wouldn't exist without homestuck, so I thought it'd be a good idea to read it so I could understand utdr better ad I fell in love. I'd love to hear when other people read it and what first prompted them whether it was a friend or something else. •<|:o).

august of 2013! i was 8 n my older sister showed me the cupcakes comic dub by octopimp n i instantly fell in love

i got banned from homestuck about early 2015 by my parents due to it being inappropriate

in 2017 id watch cosplay musically compilations / hiveswap gameplays because i felt like i still wasnt allowed to be into it n i was incredibly scared of being as obsessed n annoying about it as i was when i was 8/9

started reading again april 2019 , then it became an active interest once more in august of 2020 due to me making a friend who was also really into it

finally finished reading it in the summer of 2021! it took me about a month iirc. june-july :D

i got into it innnn.... 2012? after having my best friend get into it and subsequently dragging me into it, and seeing it around more and more as The Cool Thing in the deviantART circles i was in starting in ~2011.

i don't remember specifically when i started it, but i eventually caught up with the comic around the time the tricksters were first introduced in act 6 (~early 2013), and i remember keeping up with upd8s in the mornings before school. then The Pauses (and Life) hit in the ensuing years, and i fell out of it around 2015.

i got back into it properly in 2019. (only 4 years, but it felt like a MUCH longer time..)

then hsbc came out, and i was NOT a fan, so i kinda fell off again & kept to the outskirts.

but the latest upd8 (plus the creation of this website) has stoked my interest, and i've since gotten over my knee-jerk dislike of hsbc to begin with, so here i am again in 2025.

hello world!

for context, i have not read any of hsbc before the intermission.

Late 2010 here! Would've been in middle school at the time. I found out it while I was roleplaying anime characters with my friends on Formspring. Listened to Sunslammer once and my life would be forever changed as a result. Spent most of my days either blogging about it on Tumblr, RPing fantrolls on Formspring/Zingled chat/Trollmegle/FB/MSPARP/Cherubplay/and-so-on, cosplaying at local cons and park meetups, and lurking on the Skaianet imageboard (now MSPABooru). If you dig back through the archive you can still find some of my first attempts at sprite edits there too.

I started over a year ago and since then have been reading it because the website went down, but I decided just to wait for it to go back up (bad idea lmao). Anyway, I waited too long and forgot most of the plot so I downloaded TUHC (rip), and now I'm about 200-ish pages away from finishing it :D

I read it for the first time when I was thirteen in 2019 and finished basically right before the epilogues came out. I was basically immediately brought on board and have read it several times since. It was definitely interesting reading the epilogues at that point since how Homestuck left off was still very fresh on my mind and I was still thinking about it. That definitely made the time jump more jarring, but I enjoyed them then and I still do.

Late 2010 or early 2011. I^m not to clear about the date because I almost died after reading it... it's related.

I read Homestuck in middle school during Math class. I would listen or watch the Lets read homestuck videos, and then I'd continue my reading in class. However, I didn't own a computer at home, I had to read on like a kindlefire. So I missed a lot of the cool flash games and stuff my first time reading it and was kind of bummed about not being able to play them lol.

think i first started reading it in the summer of 2024, last year, though it had definitely been on my watch list for a while before that..
i tried using the official site first, then figured out that the flashes were broken husks of their former selves, and switched to the UHC for the intended / original experience.

as for the reason? probably a mix of curiosity about the piece of media that once ruled the internet and the want to check out Toby Fox's earlier songs.

originally in 2018, but i didn't make it far through act 1 and ended up restarting it in the summer of 2019, when i was about 14. this doesn't count the background awareness of its existence via undertale and occasionally coming across homestuck stuff in the early 2010s with no context.

If I remember correctly, I started reading for the first time around 2013/2014 during a hiatus. I knew about it beforehand but didn't know where to read until a distant cousin of mine visited and asked me if I knew about it, I said yeah but I haven't watched/read it yet. They asked to see my laptop, and lo and behold, I'm on the first page. I can't say what day of the year exactly, but I remember it being a cleaning day, so it had to be a Sunday.

i've been here since 2017. i was 11 back then but i didn't start "taking it seriously" like i did not read the comic til i was 13/14 years old, so you can say i've been only a fan since like 2020? so i get you you can consider me one of the pandemic homestuck fans so not that early too

scroll up and down to make them jump!!

I started in 2013 and got fully updated in 2016 before the hiatus ended, so I was able to actually enjoy the upd8s right at the end.

Around 2014-2015. I remember my friend introducing it to me when we both first started going to middle school... probably should've not read it at that age but I'm sure most of the sensitive stuff went over my head as a kid haha.

Late 2011 for me on my third attempt to get into it. I had actually been turned onto it in mid 2010, around the first appearance of Karkat, because he was instantly popular with a group of acquaintances at the time. I wasn't sure what I was even looking at at first, and only got a handful of pages in the second time. That third attempt tho I managed to overcome the "learning curve" and get on it's wave length and it just clicked for me ever since.

i think i started in 2018, reading it on mobile (RIP, [S] pages never loaded). I remember I finished HS not long before Epilogues started. Mixed feelings bc i came in fandom late and was lost in different opinions of different people.

im not native english speaker. pls be nice.
