How did you get your username?

a few years ago i put "duck buster" in a bio at random and it evolved into a fake profession of mine. i am a duck buster, i babysit ducks and it's called busting them. i take pride in my work. i bust ducks.

In the fields of my dreams I came across a little mystical dwarf, he was mending something with his bare hands, in a funny fashion, he was mocking me the whole time, calling me weak, unfulfilled and overall not a very good tea drinker, I was very very very very very very upset at this, and I told him
"You gotta just stop dude, alright, I cant help me being stupid, but the tea drinking bit, nah, nah, dude, not happening. Nope"
You see I said that in the heat of the moment, and I apologize for how crass and rude that was but I couldn't help myself. I really couldnt, and so, I apologized to him, I said to him
"Listen that was really really rude of me to do that"
He said it was "alright" Really. I couldnt believe it myself, so anyways he was mending me a goddamn, thingy, he put it in my chest, flew up in the air and gave me that name, he then put me back into bed. So yeah, it's what you see beside me.

i made it up on a whim, although it does relate to who i am in a miniscule way.

wickedgoogly is my un for specifically homestuck endeavors. it comes from a conversation between rose and dave around the end of act 5, where they're on derse's moon talking about their suicide mission/joking about sports. it also appears at the very beginning of wizardy herbert, which i did not know until reading about half of it earlier this year!

when i was like 12 i liked octopi and i thought ambush sounded cool and i could never change it because people i knew were on every site i used and i didnt want to confuse them. i like the username though i feel like i could have come up with something better now

When I was in like elementary school me and my friends decided to become the "Sloth Army" on Pokemon Go and change our usernames to that, but I was to only one who actually ended up doing it. From there it just kind of stuck.

I chose this username in this forum because I love Lyndis from Fire Emblem (yes, I'm calling her Lyndis, not Lyn)

I am a Lolita who loves Lolita fashion a lot, but I often use the term EGL (Elegant Gothic and Lolita) instead. So I just chose elegantSpinstress because it has elegant in it, and a "Spinstress" is someone who spins yarn or makes lace, lol. Also, it is an old-timey, mean word to call an unmarried woman. I always liked the women in books who were "Spinsters" or "Spinstresses" because they are very lesbian coded to me, which is also what I am.

taken separately, they each refer to my cartographic (my favorite map projection is the equidistant cylindrical projection -- epsg:4326 on qgis) and linguistic (i like to learn about languages for its own pleasure and to better improve my translation skills w/o necessarily learning to be fluent) interests respectively

and taken as a whole, it is a nod to the fact that the languages of the songs/texts i have translated cut across all the world's space, and maybe time too if we include ancient hebrew

My first username was confusedTerror, which came from a generator. I was super scared and confused at the time because of a lot of personal revelations and just how my life was at that time, so it stuck. After that I decided to go with umbralEvolution, which is honestly just a big Eevee/Penny reference because I like the both of those things a whole lot <3

okay, there is actually a really interesting story to this. so when i first came online back when i was 12, i went by the name "AnimeGamer." however, as time went on, i began to dislike that name, and so by the time i was midway through age 13, i was experimenting with other names. one i frequently used was "Sans Skelington [sic]," which i used for wikia (now fandom, also :blech:) and vine. as a side note (this will become important later on for obvious reasons), i would spend that summer reading the entirety of homestuck for the first time. then came reddit, where i went by "AnimetheTsundereCat," followed by tumblr with "darealtsunderecat." so at this stage, "tsundere cat" had become my alternate online identity, though i wouldn't fully adopt the chumhandle variant (tsundereCat [TC]) until around december of that year. though, i don't fully consider myself fully becoming "tsundereCat [TC]" until almost a full year later in november, when i revived my youtube channel using the name.

but now, in recent times, i am experimenting with a new name again, though this one would be for more professional work in the future. i'm thinking, "T.S. Neko."

i have usernames i use but i really really really wanted to use homestuck conventions for my username here. so has to start with GCAT, use some funky words, adjectiveNoun. i'm a rambler so i went with tediousGabbler, as in, i tediously gabble all the time :^) (i do like my ramblings however)
