Look at my profile. Look at it. I like classpects. I write about classpects. I like doing thought exercises about figuring out how hypothetical classpects might work. Remember those old tumblr blogs that just explain different classpects that get submitted? This is that. I want to be that. Reply with one and I'll try and give my own take on their powers and stuff and other people can too ^^

Oh good heavens I never expected this much attention on this thread. The person who bumped this just because they wanted to stay updated on new analysises (analysis's???) made me so happy lol. Anyway, I'm really excited for this next one! And it's finally nighttime for me so I'm gonna try and pound through a bunch of these in the next hour or two.

Mage: Someone who guides others with knowledge of their aspect or guides others either away from or towards their aspect. They’re similar to seers, and also have a talent for hearing their exiles exceptionally well. Rather than gaining knowledge using their aspect, mages will gain knowledge directly from it, and distinctly understand the rules of it. The differing methods of gaining knowledge may blur into each other a little depending on the aspect, though. But mage's will always have an emphasis on understanding how their aspect actually works and avoiding or gaining it. They lack their aspect within themselves in exchange for protection from their aspect.

Mind: Karma, thoughts, justice and decisions. I think consequences is the best word to sum this aspect, it's all about the consequences of people's actions and is tied to *why* people commit the actions they do. It heavily relates to people's mentality in general.

The reason I'm excited for this one is because Mage's don't get a lot of elaboration in homestuck (which is why it's blurb is so lengthy), but I think I've done a good job at breaking it down from what little we've seen of Sollux and Meulin interacting with their aspects. I'd love for there to be more elaboration on Mages in Beyond Canon, even if it comes at the cost of realizing my analysis isn't as accurate as I thought. But, I digress.

A Mage of Mind would be a top tier psychoanalysis and have a deep inherent understanding of the consequences of peoples actions. They gain their knowledge of Mind because their own mind naturally understands it. People's psychology, consequences, karma, justice, those are all things that they naturally understand already, as Mages gain knowledge directly from their aspect. Their actual powers would include intuitively understanding precisely how to manipulate people and get them to make the choices that our Mage wants them to make. If they have a goal in mind, they would know what to do that would lead to their desired outcome. They would also know if the outcome they desire is something that's impossible to reach, because they can't mind control, they can only manipulate. If they or someone on their team is wronged, they would know the path towards justly punishing them. They would also know how to avoid undesirable consequences and know when to warn their teammates against doing something stupid that would hurt themselves or their session. For example, if Dave was a Mage of Mind when John told him about Terezi's rocketpack idea, he would immediately realize John would get himself killed even if he had no actual way of knowing that. The thought would simply come to him naturally.

The most interesting part of a Mage of Mind is that they lack their aspect in order to gain protection from it. This may come as a form of lacking any sense of justice, or simply a struggle with something like paranoia or psychosis. In exchange for this, they would be able to get away with avoiding the consequences of their actions and avoiding negative karma or justice. This would naturally align with Mages being able to guide people away from their aspect as well and may be able to share this ability with their party members.

Rogue of Time is up next, and was requested twice lol. So here you both go ^^

Rogue: Someone who steals from their aspect and redistributes it, often compared to a Robin Hood type of class. They can also steal their aspect directly. If there’s something that their party needs from their aspect, a rogue can supply it. It's only ever supplied to those who don't have enough of it. Rogues powers are almost exclusively used to help others or everyone in the session, they don't gain what they steal all for themself.

Time: Self explanatory but also representative of entropy and associated with death, destruction, and exploitation via time traveling. Loose association to technology.

I'm a bit confused about this one but I think I can work it out as I talk about it. I mentioned before in another reply that, especially for Time players, a class doesn't always directly decide a players powers. A class can also be determined by how a player uses their powers and/or how their actions involving their aspect affect the narrative of their story. The powers of a Rogue of Time would just be anything involving time.

So, cogs in my brain turning, I think a Rogue of Time would get to a point in their session where something messes up because their party ran out of time. They would use their time travel to do extremely important tasks to stall the enemy and give their teammates more time to prepare. They'd also be able to act as a messenger through time to tell their teammates when they need to lock in and get ready for something bad that's going to happen, so they can all avoid wasting any time doing unnecessary stuff. During combat, they would be a support member, and avoid being directly offensive unless absolutely necessary. They could get by on their own of course, they would just mainly excel at support. They could slow down or stop time for whoever their party is fighting against, taking time away from their enemies in order to give it to their teammates.

Okay, so, I looked at the next request and it was from someone who hasn't finished the comic (get off the forum you're going to get spoilers!! have fun reading it though!!!) asking for an explanation on Karkat's classpect, Knight of Blood. And I think I'd like to implement a rule that helps me sift through these requests, which is that I'm avoiding requests asking for explanations on classpects that characters in the comic have, with an exception for every Dancestor except for Aranea and Meenah (see? that's a spoiler. I'm so sorry) since most of those characters are really left in the dark. Aranea explicitly elaborates on what she does and Meenah's is so straightforward I'd be offended if anyone requested it. Exceptions might be made for beta trolls that ended up being irrelevant and stayed irrelevant.

I apologize if your request is getting ignored cause of this but I want to focus on hypothetical classpects, and I know Aradia elaborates more on hers in Beyond Canon and I haven't read that yet (getting to it very soon) so I don't want to get anything wrong. I also know someone comes back in Beyond Canon after being gone for fuckin' forever. Somehow.

And for the person that wants to know more about classpects and anyone else wondering where I get those blurbs from, take this. It's the thing I talked about in my bio, it's spoiler free. If you look at it and pay attention to how Karkat interacts with the blood aspect, you'll answer your own question ^^ https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kqXTb2T91KilQJp6nc6GCb8EXkBVrasrep0W3hVoIHg/edit?tab=t.0

Can't really fault the Kurloz roleplayer for asking about Prince of Rage, though it does seem like you should already know this? :p

Prince(ss): Someone who destroys their aspect outright. They are at odds with their aspect, and usually even destroy their aspect within themselves. It’s also shown that they destroy their aspect so that it can be rebuilt stronger than it was before. (It is my own personal speculation, so feel free to take this or leave it, that a prince's ultimate challenge is to rebuild their aspect within themselves after they’ve destroyed it).

Rage: Insanity, chaos, destruction, obsession/conviction, and negative emotions with a huge focus on anger. Associated with physical strength, many rage classes would be brawlers in an rpg. They reach their full potential when pushed to their mental limit and/or under an extreme amount of stress.

So Kurloz is honestly a pretty strange one. Been a while since I've played openbound so I went ahead and thoroughly read his wiki page. It seems to be that him being at odds with his aspect comes from the specific incident that caused Meulin to go deaf, where they were both asleep together before he woke up from a nightmare and yelled or screamed (or honked?) loud enough to permanently destroy her hearing. The most explicit use of his Prince of Rage abilities come from the fact that he completely pacified her afterwards. Not only is Meulin not angry at him for it but she seems completely at peace with the circumstances and enjoys learning different ways to communicate. He also seems to take advantage of his ability to pacify her in order for her to not be alarmed at all by the instances where he possesses her with chucklevoodoos. She questions it but never seems to be able to muster any genuine negative emotions and just finds ways to write the weird instances off.

He did feel extremely upset over disabling Meulin though. His rage manifested as a scream, and so he destroyed that rage within him by taking a vow of silence and biting his tongue off. He still rebuilt his aspect within himself through going deeper into his religious convictions, which were most certainly insane and revolved around the concept of every single ghost in the furthest ring being destroyed through dying a double death.

Aside from that, the only other ways he could have possibly fulfilled his role as a Prince of Rage are speculative. The incident involving Mituna overusing his powers to save the alpha trolls from certain doom is shrouded in mystery, but Kurloz was indeed there. Mituna can't give a proper account of this due to trauma, but Kurloz for some reason or another just hasn't elaborated on what he saw. It's a personal theory of mine that after Mituna overexerted himself, that Kurloz was there to pacify Mituna after the incident was over, and may have even destroyed the memories of it from his mind. He may have also tried to help Mituna with whatever the threat was, fulfilling his Prince of Rage role by trying to destroy whatever it was that threatened to destroy them.

Oh yeah, another note for Kurloz, is that he also destroyed Cronus's obsession with fighting and destroying Lord English, as well as his faith in magic as a whole. The obsession/conviction part of the rage aspect is heavily associated to any kind of religious or religious adjacent faith.

Bard: Bards seem to act on the will of their aspect by doing what they can to allow destruction to be caused through their aspect. They act as a vessel of their aspect and can be literally possessed by their aspect in order to cause destruction. Opposite to princes, they build up their aspect within themselves to cause destruction, as they always start out with their aspect destroyed within them.

Space: Kinda just physics. Like, the size of objects and how they relate to other objects, as well as their velocity. It's also about creation, space players play important parts in creating things. They tend to be passionate about art or other hobbies. Also associated with maternity and/or nurturing and caring for others.

So, a Bards usually start out with a lack of their aspect. A lack of the space aspect may come as something literal, maybe they don't have any space in their home or are stuck somewhere and unable to explore the world around them. It could also mean that they struggle with their creative endeavors, or struggle with creating any meaningful bonds with people they could really care about. Since space also relates to objects and mass, it could also be that they literally don't have much of anything at all. Space is a pretty open ended aspect.

A Bard of Space would be someone possessed or guided by some sort of universal will. This doesn't have to be literal though, and could just be them having a set of beliefs that guide them based on the principles of the Space aspect, that creation and the act of creating things is important. This belief system building up within them is how they come to grasp their aspect after being void of it for so long. It could be a religious thing for them, but doesn't have to be.

They would have similar combat abilities to Jade, minus the abilities she has due to being fused with Bec. But, they would almost entirely focus on combat, and wouldn't use their space abilities for much else. A Bard of Space at their full potential would be one of the most powerful fighters you could ask for. They would destroy for the sake of Space, whatever that means for them specifically. They would be hellbent on creating the new universe. Their philosophy overall would be to destroy for the sake of creation.

@nebulacarrion tysm! Glad that you enjoyed my analysis on your classpect, it means a lot, same goes for anyone who felt the same way of course!! Thanks for requesting master classes, I'll get them done in two separate replies. Be warned, masterclass blurbs are much longer than the others.

Lord: A class that is restricted to the single player in a dead Sburb session. A Lord is a Lord because of two major things, the journey they go on in their session to conquer and then destroy the planets in their game, and the leprechauns that they gain from this. This is one of the most on the nose class titles; the definition of the word lord is “someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler.” A Lord is one who, when given The Choice, chooses the path of the conqueror over the path of the martyr. The leprechauns they gain have a singular unique power relating to the Lord’s aspect, and are utilized in conquering and destroying various places in paradox space. Their goal in the story is always to conquer all of paradox space, escaping the bounds of their own universe with the immense power that they gain. They are so powerful that many people in the universe may go so far as to deify them in positive or negative ways.

Heart: Basically soul, the essence of someone's being, and someone's emotions. It's speculated that it's also related to intuition. The emotional reasons people do things, opposed to the logical reasons. Heavily associated and likely directly tied to romance and relationships.

Lords are ridiculous. Just fucking ridiculous. Lord English could shoot fucking lasers out of his mouth and had a god damn transformation that turned him into some big fucking hulking beast. I'm assuming the lasers are somehow time related. If I think too hard about the lasers I'll lose my shit I swear to fucking god. Anyway!

It's my own speculation that the Lord's urge to conquer and destroy everything in paradox space is somehow related to their aspect. Caliborn's taste for destruction came down to simply destroying for the sake of it. He was just genuinely pure evil. That's why he ended up with the time aspect. Lords of Time are the most powerful type of Lords, and his lust for death was so pure that he ended up literally embodying the concept of entropy.

So, what about a Lord of Heart?

A Lord of Heart would hate emotions. They would hate connecting with people. They would despise the concept of love and relationships and that would be what's at the heart of their hatred towards every living thing in paradox space. It could just be something that's fundamentally wrong with them, but it could also be caused by having had their heart broken. Doesn't have to be by a former lover but that would of course be very fitting. They would hate people more than Caliborn did, and would refuse to form any kind of relationship with anyone. They'd probably see their leprechauns as nothing but tools. Their leprechauns powers would probably involve a lot of emotional manipulation. Let's see if I can list a few powers! The power to immobilize someone because looking into their eyes can make them instantly fall in love, similar power but instead of someone falling in love it's wracking them with complete and utter heartbreak, completely destroying someones emotions temporarily, the power of immaculate intuition, stuff like that. And since some leprechauns just have really fucking stupid abilities, a heart leprechaun could immediately fall in love with anyone they look at or some other kinda stupid shit.

A Lords destructive capabilities would be annihilating peoples souls. If there was a cult that formed around them it would probably involve themes of completely abolishing their emotions and refusing to have any meaningful relationships.

(This reply took so long to make because I've been a bit busy and kept getting interrupted, so sorry!!!)

It occurs to me now that I completely disregarded the immensely confusing and god awful and never elaborated on romance system the leprechauns have. Replace any instance of "falling in love with" when it comes to referencing a Heart Leprechauns powers with the more general term of infatuation, I guess?

Muse: A class that is restricted to the single player in a dead Sburb session. Similar to Lords, the actual definition of a Muse works well to explain this class; “a person or personified force who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.” However, the definition doesn’t explain Muses as perfectly. Their inspiration is not limited to creative artists, the tale of a Muse is one that reaches to a vast number of people all across paradox space. When given The Choice, they choose the path of a martyr over the path of the conqueror. The Muse can only accomplish their goal through death, dead sessions are not even designed for Muses to overcome. Sometimes, perhaps every time, there’s more to accomplish in their death than simply fulfilling their martyrdom. Alt Callie needed to be dead so that she could create the black hole that finally defeated Lord English. This leads me to believe that the most simple explanation of a Muse is one who needs to sacrifice themselves in order to save paradox space, whose tale is shared all across many universes and the veil and inspires others to join their cause. The powers they use to accomplish their goal, as well as the way they inspire others, are related to their aspect. They are so powerful that many people will likely see them as a religious figure.

Blood: Bonds, trust, unity, and connections with others. Leadership and inspiration. They would be protagonists in an rpg, and friendship is their strength.

Muses are much less ridiculous than Lords even if they're a bit more abstract. I hope the blurb for Muse is concise enough to be easily understood, I know it is still pretty long like the Lord one was. I think the blood aspect is really perfect for a Muse. Blood is already related to inspiration anyway, which would lead me to believe that the tale of a Muse of Blood would reach even further than Alt Callie's did, beyond the furthest veil where the dream bubbles reside and somehow reaching to those still alive on their planets or in their game sessions. Muses are also likely to be deified like Lord's are, so I think a Muse of Blood could create the exact inverse of the juggalo cult that worshiped Lord English.

A Muse of Blood would be inspired to do the right thing because of how much they care about others. Even if they're all alone, which they likely would be given they'd need to go into a dead session, connections with others would be really important to them. It could be that they're only in a dead session because those closest to them died before they could download the game. They'd inspire others in paradox space to form strong bonds and work together to take down whatever ultimate threat exists in the story. The Muse of Blood would have to die in order for them to become a direct leader over all the different ghosts across the dream bubbles. They would make themselves known as a bold presence and work to unite everyone. They wouldn't have any combat abilities but they'd be an amazing inspirational speaker and never let morale die. They would share their story of perseverance, about how they faced death not knowing what would come afterwards, simply because they trusted that it would be worth it if their death could help others. Like Homestuck's Muse of Space, the Muse of Blood would only truly unlock her powers in death, and they would purely be the ability to organize an army. "Callie did the same thing though?" is a fair point, and the difference is that if she was of the blood aspect, the army that fought Lord English would have been the final blow that defeated him, rather than the black hole, which could only have been created by a space player.

i offer 4 (for each of my fantrolls)
Maid of Light
Witch of Light
Witch of Heart

Thief of Void

Friday, August 8th, 2025, 11:53 PM27 days ago

Bwahhhh sorry I've been busy today, yesterday was my birthday. Anyways, excited to get back to this and see more requests!

Witch: Someone who manipulates, changes, and breaks the rules of their aspect. They also seem to have a tendency to cooperate with powerful forces that either have a great deal of power over their aspect, or can affect their aspect in some way.

Light: Knowledge, particularly narrative knowledge and narrative importance (spotlight), fortune, luck, literal light, foresight, literal sight. Often associated with emotional instability, likely due to the trope of people going mad when they've attained too much knowledge.

So, a witch's purpose is to directly screw with their aspect and break it apart. They might work with or convince a powerful force to do something for them in order to accomplish this, or, a powerful force might have the witch do something for them. Damara worked on behalf of LE, Feferi convinced the Horrorterrors to create the dream bubbles, and Jade helped Alt Calliope. I wanted to elaborate a little extra here since I think a lot of people tend to simplify witches down a lot when they don't understand the narrative aspect of classpecting.

Most witches would be incredibly powerful but a Witch of Light would be up there with the most ridiculous. However, their powers would be incredibly abstract.

The most straightforward aspect of their powers would be the ability to manipulate luck. If they're powerful enough, they could sway any single thing that's up to chance even a little bit in their favor. They would also have a lot of influence over the narrative of their story itself. If they were someone who didn't enjoy responsibility or having people paying attention to them, they could subconsciously influence the story into not focusing on them very much, literally making themselves unimportant. Same is true for the opposite.

The ability to manipulate knowledge is where the powers could be interpreted in different ways, but I'll just go with my own ideas for it. A Witch of Light would have the ability to hide knowledge from others. Doing something like this, as well as what I mentioned earlier with them being able to keep the narrative spotlight off of them, are things they do because they simply will it to happen. If they focused on trying to hide knowledge from someone, the way that would work is that a bunch of unrelated things happen to keep them in the dark. Things that were going to happen anyway but only happened because she willed it to.

An extremely powerful Witch of Light might be able to fuck with the narrative to an even bigger extent. For example, if something happens in the story that should have a substantial impact on things, they could will it to be that it's entirely inconsequential regardless of how illogical that would be, therefore playing into a witch's ability to break their aspect. For example, a war breaks out that should change the culture of the world forever, but after it's over, everything simply returns back to normal, as if it never happened. People brush it off and seem to be unable to comprehend that things probably should have played out differently.

As for the part about Witches having a tendency to be involved with incredibly powerful or godlike forces, a Witch of Light might just be able to talk directly to the narrator or the author of the story itself, or they could come into contact with a full fledged Lord or Muse of Light from a different universe.

Okay should be able to do this more consistently again now. Knight of Hope is next? That seems like a simple but really neat one, actually.

Knight: Someone who serves and protects their aspect, and serves and protects others and themselves through their aspect. This is accomplished by either using it as a weapon or making more of it, as there usually not very much of their aspect in their party.

Hope: This one is self explanatory. But also tied to belief in general. If you believe in something hard enough it might happen. They would be magicians in an rpg, as they have an immense amount of magical power. Holiness and angels are also representative of this aspect.

Superman 2025. That was easy. Thanks for reading the analysis!

Nah. I'm actually not certain if that's what I'd classpect Clark as in that movie. I'd need to rewatch it. It's an extremely safe bet though! A Knight of Hope would be someone that lifts up their party the best they can no matter how hopeless things seem. Even if they're not a generally positive person, they're extremely determined and stubborn as hell that there will always be a way to get through a challenge. Their ability to keep fighting comes from that mindset. They fight because they have hope, weaponizing their aspect. They will end up saving themselves and their teammates because they kept trying, even when it seemed impossible, and that's the role they play in their story. Their force of willpower is an unstoppable force that would find a way to beat an unmovable object.

Their actual powers would culminate in them being able to protect everyone even though it should have been impossible, like defeating a foe that they are nowhere near actually powerful enough to take on. They basically get power boosts through hope. It's dawning on me how similar it would manifest to going super saiyan, unlocking new levels of power simply through strong enough emotions.

The actual combat abilities are the same as any hope player. Hope seems to manifest through magic, Jake is able to make a hope nuke and Eridan's whole thing about trying to prove magic isn't real support that idea. You could get creative with the way the magic actually culminates.

It's not necessary but it would also be fitting to make any kind of religious parallels or references with them. They could do something similar to praying when trying to work up the power to take on an enemy. They don't have to be literally praying though, of course. A planet that's themed after Hell or some other religious eternal damnation would be fitting. Hope players are EXTREMELY powerful, so they better have challenges to match that.

@griseousaconite it's pretty funny that you requested witch of light when it was already requested and it lined up so that it was the reply under your requests lol. I'd remind everyone to look through to make sure you're not requesting something that's already been done but I guess if you need that reminder you wouldn't see it :p

Maid: Someone who repairs and keeps their aspect under control. It’s also a pun, as they are metaphorically (maybe literally for some aspects?) made of their aspect, which lets them lend their aspect to others when they need help.
Light: Knowledge, particularly narrative knowledge and narrative importance (spotlight), fortune, luck, literal light, foresight, literal sight. Often associated with emotional instability, likely due to the trope of people going mad when they've attained too much knowledge.

I think a Maid of Light would be someone who's naturally both very smart and very lucky. They'd need to have some other shit wrong with them to prevent them from seeming too perfect, and it'd be fitting but not necessary that they're a bit emotionally unstable or misguided. Or they could also just be bad at their job. Some maids are.

But I digress, a Maid of Light would probably be lucky and smart because of the whole "made of" pun. This would also mean they could be extremely important to the story somehow. Given that Maids keep their aspect under control by any means they deem necessary, they'd at the very least try and make themselves important.

They'd assert themselves as or inadvertently become the character that's in charge of keeping track of things and learning how to play the game. If they created a walk-through like Rose did, the difference would be that they stick with it and keep track of literally everything they learn. Knowledge would come to them some way or another, perhaps similar to Rose, or perhaps just because they're put into the positions necessary to learn things by the story itself.

They could also do things or have abilities to pull the luck of the session and their party in their favor, as well as literally distributing luck to those who need it. Another way they could lend their aspect to others could come in the form of being able to send knowledge to others when they need it, perhaps tapping their head and transferring thoughts into their minds directly, or perhaps over a distance, being able to let others know their location if they're ever in trouble and need help.

I could very easily just... Ask for my own classpect, but I think it'd be more interesting to go with something else.
How about... A Page of Doom. Originally I was going to say void but we already have one in the story, avoiding dupes for a while is probably best.

@cutecoercion
haha yeah i did not notice that
tho i suppose i also dont know if you go for every request and so one that had not been fulfilled mightve gotten a higher chance of being so

either way i like your thoughts both for the Witch and Maid of Light
a lot of it things that ive also thought before but also some that i hadnt quite considered which is always fun

a scary thing a Maid of Light could also do (for combat potential) is becoming a sun ala jake hopesplosion
and i feel a Witch of Light could have fun interactions with mirrors (especially the funhouse kind) they'd have the potential for illusions on a grand scale
and if we combine it with the as you mentioned narrative part of possibly things happening that dont stick, we could call that an illusiory reality

seers are knowers, those who have tapped into the esoteric, the arcane and have granted themselves extensive knowledge few possess. hope players are, to my understanding, believers, and idealists.

what would a seer of hope entail?
