Just how much Homestuck related socials does Makin own, now?

Since Makin is I guess committing to avoiding the question, does anyone else have any theories as to why Makin would say that the discord was a safe space for homophobic jokes? Since we've established that everyone in the world heard about 17776 on tumblr like me, I'm much more interested in the homophobia theories. Respectfully.

I do recall it had at the time to do with Tensei making homophobic comments and getting kicked from the music team, and the reddit/discord all rallied around him. I'm also working on my own personal experiences where I noticed homophobic comments and jokes being made, asked about them, and got told it was fine lol. This was in 2019, and I haven't interacted with them since. Tho I do notice that when you look up r/homestuck one of the top posts is still people celebrating a trans woman being harassed off the internet so like, doesn't really wanna make me give them another chance.

@lyrichartwell I mean I don't think that the r/homestuck post has anything to do with her gender as much as people just not liking what Kate did. It would've been the same had she been cis, male, or three monkeys in a trench-coat. The community nowadays is much "cleaner" than years ago, and most of what gets flagged by outsiders as homophobic jokes is usually just queer people bantering among each other. Actual proper bigotry's banned pretty quickly.

Regarding things that happened in 2019: I honestly don't know, I wasn't around then. I do doubt Makin explicitly condoned (or still condones) homophobic jokes, given how he gets antsy even when two queer friends joke among each other in public in ways that might not be 100% appropriate with strangers

sorry if this question has been answered somewhere in the 10 pages of this topic and i just didn't see it, but how did makin come to have control over all these homestuck-related spaces? were they just the first person who called dibs, were they a fandom a celeb, did someone officially related to the team give them that position? i didn't get into homestuck until a few months after it ended so i'm a little bit out of the loop

Makin's transphobia and bigotry is up to interpretation depending on when your idea of "real" bigotry starts, but i think everyone in this thread should know that Makin finds Trump very, very funny

@atrophiedcircuitry On the contrary, there's so little of it that I have to ask what they mean. There's the occasional banter between two queer users (who are friends) that sometimes call each other gay, and I don't personally think that counts as homophobia since they're both reclaiming it and are acting normally.

@cthonikix like I said above, if it's two gay people calling each other gay or whatever, I don't actually think that's homophobia. If there's something else, I haven't seen it

Also Makin created the server in 2016, then transferred it to Drew when Hussie contacted them, and then Drew returned it to Makin in like 21 yeah
