I can name:
- Homestuck.net
- The Homestuck.net Bluesky and Twitter
- (apparently) The Homestuck Discord
- (apparently) r/homestuck
I feel like giving one guy control over all of these spaces is a little scary. Not to mention, they (because someone doesn't have pronouns in bio!) have been pretty vocal about supporting Gio and apparently the mods have started deleting any negative opinions of him off the Homestuck reddit, I don't know how it is with the Discord though I don't tread that far idk. I would recommend just not using these if you're concerned with unbiased reporting.
If you (or even Makin themselves, since I know they're here) can prove me wrong somehow, I'd also appreciate that, I'm not too concerned with keeping a grudge. These forums and Tumblr are one of the only major Homestuck communities on the web where everyone has gotten to speak their mind on the situation and it's really great.
Yes, HSD is Makin's Homestuck discord server
re: elegantspinstress
Yes, I believe back in the day it used to be called the "r/homestuck" discord, but nowadays it seems like it's been rebranded to just "Homestuck" (presumably because it's also shilled on the homestuck.net socials as well).

i dont know who this makin guys & therefore wont make any gossip statements toward him but ill say that in genersl havin a bunch of spaces be owned by a single person is a recipe for failure even if the person in question is like, literally jesus or something lol
everything u do is a balloon :)
This thread caught me off-guard. I'll address the most important complaints first.
@Siofra: Worm is actually a really good story, and not reddit at all! In fact, it has a thread here at FRAF, which I recommend you check out https://www.fruityrumpus.com/forums/t/anybody-read-worm-parahumans It should be a good distraction from, well, this.
Okay, that's all.
Ohh i see...yeah the vibes in that place are way off lol I only lasted like a month or two before just leaving T_T everyone was just really rude to me all of the time when I was doing my reread of Homestuck and just talking about it in the very plainly named "Homestuck general chat" lol. It was like every conversation had to be a debate or something.
I would say something incredibly tame about a character only to be met with 'YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT READ THE COMIC YOU MORON!!!' like woah dude relax.
anyways it seems a lot of people haven't had a good time there, and if this persons also in charge of the reddit it makes sense as well why it took them so long to pin the official resources to download or read homestuck. For a while there were a lot of new fans wondering where they could read Homestuck and there were a lot of people pushing this misinformation that the UHC and Homestuck as a whole was "lost media" this was obviously untrue. I was told they couldn't pin an easy link to read Homestuck because of some weird technical difficulties. But I kind of just think it's because they enjoyed reading people spiral in a panic and getting angrier at Hussie for "taking Homestuck away" which meant other people like me had to give new readers the links instead.
Thankfully, there is one pinned now, but there wasn't for a good while because they kept the recent drama up for much longer than I definitely think was necessary.
re: elegantspinstress
There actually was an old pin with a ton of viable alternatives to the main website, including ones other than the official collection, along with an Upd8 thread, but both were taken down and replaced solely with the blogpost (and then the show announcement when that happened a day later). It's very confusing.
Kindness, Kindness Terezi~ Kindness, Kindness Terezi~
Oh yes I'm aware. I just think they kept the blogpost pinned for a lot longer than was needed because when the show was announced this obviously made for an influx of newbies who wanted to read Homestuck. But instead all they saw was just the blogpost and the link to the youtube pilot. They read the blogpost, get understandably angry about it and start posting angry messages with the rest of the redditors in the sub. A bad game of telephone ensues where people who are new begin to think there is no way to read Homestuck anymore which just isn't true obviously, and there was already a pretty handy post they could make to easily fix this.
But the subreddit was filled with a lot of angry commenters for a while simply because of misinformation that I feel a simple pin could've fixed if they had done it a bit sooner. And it would've at least lessened the toxicity as well </3 At least they have pinned a new resource full of links so that's good. And the sub does look more calm then a few days ago.
fascinating to re-recommend worm to someone who said they wouldn't read it if you put a gun to their head. You are so strange.
Also please leave Makin your presence makes people uncomfortable and we don't want you here thanks
i used to be somewhat active in the discord but i gave up cause the atmosphere was just so fucking awful, havent been in the community for a while until recently cause theres always pointless drama
vriska is awesome
I joined the hs discord and eventually found a few other people who were so tired of the rancid atmosphere we made a splinter discord lmfao (shoutouts posterchum)
Makin endorses putting guns to peoples' heads??? Yikes
re: squiddo yeah I pretty much stick almost exclusively to aux. discords if I want to chat about homestuck (my preferred is mspfa). Generally just a lot more chill and diverse I feel.
Kindness, Kindness Terezi~ Kindness, Kindness Terezi~
yeah, i was also in a splinter discord but i quit that because of the aforementioned drama
vriska is awesome
Anyway, worm is only boring and obnoxious. Maybe its unfair to call it reddit when this abomination exists on your shill list.
Makin I recommend you don't engage directly in this thread, probably not a good idea.
@Siofra: Yeah, I can't defend some of HPMOR's early cringe. You've got me there. At least Worm's honor is preserved, I'll take whatever wins I can get.
RE: @makin
I understand you're not of the mood to address all this, but being sarcastic about it is kind of like rubbing salt on a wound. Not the best look at all.
I promise we're not trying to carelessly harass you for something you didn't do. A lot of the points in my original points were speculative at best, and I was open to them being debunked. The Reddit censorship stuff didn't even end up being true, for which I have to thank one of the moderators for their transparency. If you paid attention to what people were saying, maybe you'd understand, but I'm not going to be pushy.
dude even the other worm fans want you to go you're losing the war
Be careful or he's gonna engage reckoning protocol on us :(
