When I said literally everyone can post their takes about this situation on this forum, I did also mean the pfpless account that looks and acts like a Gio sockpuppet

@Deacon you can treat them as hearsay. but I don’t see any reason to believe they’re entirely false when Hussie has never willing to publicly prove it

totally agree with Deacon, i think Gio has absolutely proven himself as someone who is entirely willing to bend and break the truth for his own benefit so really i don't see any reason to believe his version of events at all, even without an "official" response

Its not about the drama. A thread highlighting a reply in a different drama thread is totally superfluous. This should've been another reply in one of the many existing threads on the subject. The forum is being cluttered by this garbage.

I also don't understand the motivation for deleting my reply, besides making a cheap "gotcha" to my remark about the forum having no moderation.

I also want an official response but I'm willing to bet that it just might not ever happen and I'll have to just move on and be okay with that. I think people treating this entire situation like some juicy gossip is weird, we don't know any of these people. I've never met Andrew Hussie in my life lmao. So I don't "hate" anyone in this situation. I don't get the weird parasocial aspect that people have made to this.

People are making up complete fanfiction about how evil Andrew Hussie is when they've most likely never even spoken to them outside of a twt interaction. Or a meet at a convention.

For someone claiming not to be Gio you seem pretty certain of how Gio would react if he was in this situation.

Really harrowing read, here. The consensus seems to be, what, you can do whatever you want to people that you don't like? If you characterize their behavior as negative enough, you have a free license to be infinitely malicious and cruel to them? Does that not make you a person person yourself, or does it not count when its against people who are already predetermined as bad?

Besides... the real issue with Hussie's alleged misconduct isn't even that they made these requests, it is the way that they made them and the deceit they used to attempt to lure Gio into being forced to acquiesce to their demands.

I feel like this is a "If you have nothing to hide you shouldn't care about surveillance" kind of situation which is obviously wrong. Gio sucks. I do not think he is a good person. But the idea of a "good" and "bad" person is so subjective and malleable that it is incredibly unwise to determine any of your beliefs along that axis.

not to get off topic from calling the blank icon a sockpuppet but i want to say THANK YOU FOR TALKING SENSE CARMI. the homestuck fandom is uniquely deranged because people feel such an incredible right to other people's work here it's honestly disturbing. the UHC isn't a fanwork. they clearly can keep the reader up (what they actually made) without issue, but everyone thinks that if they call themselves an "archivist" (just like someone calling themselves a "journalist" because they have a blog lol) that they can not just keep but DISTRIBUTE something (the asset pack) that isn't theirs, and the actual CREATOR AND OWNER isn't allowed to say anything! Hussie has been letting all those people slide with creating PERSONAL BRANDS around THEIR WORK and encouraging it to try to foster an active and healthy fandom not just for their work but also other people's fanworks (as CLEARLY EVIDENCED by the existence of FRAF/HICU).

People act like Hussie was previously "fake" in promoting the UHC a while back - but as someone who saw it when it first came out I didn't even know it had anyone involved other than Bambosh.

So yes, if a creator is basically doing you a FAVOR and trying to keep the fandom positive by being cool with it - you are now playing ball in their court. And if you want to continue to play with their ball in their court, if you are CLEARLY legally in the wrong (and let's not act like the fact that Hussie hasn't been suing for defamation or w/e is suspicious, because we all know that the outcry would be absurd if they actually sued, as evidenced by the Sarah Z fiasco (which I can't say any real opinion on other than if anything respect for Hussie for trying to protect an openly hated (by CERTAIN PEOPLE) and TARGETED marginalized member of their team)) then maybe you should be less of a malicious asshole lmfao. play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

FRAF has clearly come about from SOMEONE realizing that "hey, maybe if we curate parts of the fandom, this place will feel like less of a hellhole." and you know what? I think it's been working out pretty well so far, even with all of gio's bullshit. Gio (and people like gio... cough cough makin) want homestuck to be preserved in a little bubble, THEIR BUBBLE, that they control and can slap their names on top of. they don't want it to grow or change or frankly do anything fun.
